It was not his fault...watch the play again...the corner hangs on his left shoulder with his right arm and jerks him down. Not to mention his left arm is holding his left arm from closing.

Give the kid a break...it should have been first and goal at the 1.

Time to turn the page on Rico, that experiment is not working.

Is it his fault?

You guys who criticize him like to ignore the fact he hasn't been put in a position to succeed at all.

Swaim has been forced down on this offense for a month and all pre-season and finally he did something yesterday that was basically all Linehan catching the D by surprise.

It should have been a penalty, no doubt. I don't blame him for that play. I blame him because people keep saying he is a physical monster who no one can stop in this situation. His legend is beyond ridiculous. Look at that picture: That monster got out jumped by a man listed at 5'9" (almost a foot smaller than him) and out muscled by a man listed at 192 pounds (almost 90 pounds lighter than him).

If Lawson had straightened his arm his apex would be higher than a man a foot taller than him. A higher pass wasn't going to help.

Nothing against the kid, he is just not a football player. He is not the "physical monster" people keep talking about. Move on already.

Looked to me as if he failed to get enough depth in his route. Those type jump balls are thrown further back in the end zone. Rico lost the battle w/ the S and wasn't where he was supposed to be. Just my take on it.

Sometimes they call the contact on that, sometimes they let them fight it out, especially if the offensive player is pushing an pulling as well.

Truth is that Rico has to use his size advantage to overpower the DB, body him out and got get the ball. That might not be a fair expectation, but it's his role. You can't call that play if you can't expect your much bigger player to win the ball.

The legend of Rico, what a joke.

Refs aren't gonna give respect to someone like Rico who has barely even played in the league. They're not calling anything on a no-name TE there 9/10 times
