I read that. The backhanded comment about Romo was unnecessary, and short sighted, considering Murray's fumble issues. I seldom get offended by the national media and their Romo comments, but that was just poor reporting.

I agree...I saw that too and that kind of misinformation is why so many fans of the NFL (and this team) think he's some sort of turnover prone choke artist. It's unfair and annoying.

I'm not going to argue that Romo is above reproach for poorly timed turnovers, but to write an entire article predicated on the belief that the Cowboys were just sick of putting the ball into Romo's hands after he was only able to afford them 3 8-8 seasons is lazy, and not the accurate story at all.

Disappointing effort by King, in my opinion. Beyond the misleading title (far from arguing that the Cowboys should ride Murray, he actually seems to agree with the view that Murray's workload should be managed) King reveals an alarming lack of understanding regarding the team's recent troubles. To hear King tell it, Romo's been the biggest reason for the Cowboys' mediocrity.

I've always felt a little slighted that after a big game, we aren't included in MMQB. The older I get I guess I understand how much control the media has in public-narrative.

I don't think he's an idiot, but a single write can't keep up with 32 teams well (which I understand), but he also can't have blinders on. The latter is bogus.

Thing is, I generally enjoy MMQB. Maybe it's a good thing he stays away from talking about the Cowboys. Seems uneducated on the subject.

I thought it was a very good article. I didn't read that as a slam on Romo. Romo is a very good quarterback. But he's Brett Favre lite. Why should we get mad because others recognize this?

If he truly believes that, I honestly don't know how else to put it, he's simply an idiot. I mean it's not like we had the worst defensive stretch in the history of our franchise(sarcasm), yeah we'll just leave that tiny tidbit out. If you're going to mention Romo is a sense like that, then tell the whole story, but that seems hard for most media guys in today's world. Always twisting to what fits their agenda or creates the most clicks.

Today on the Heard Colin try to talk about the Cowboys but Peter, I mean Dick King wouldn't go there.

What he said was true. Romo has played outstanding for most of this season, and I think a large part of it is that they are limiting him and he is playing more within himself. Even this past Sunday, it was after a backbreaking interception that they turned again to the run and it resulted (if memory serves me right) in us running all the way to the 2 yard line, after which Romo hit Dez on the little front corner of the end zone play. Romo will continue to be outstanding as long as we keep this kind of balance.

The Cowboys threw on 64.9 percent of the snaps last year and struggled to reach 8-8. So the Cowboys this year decided to go more with the run, and it’s worked well in the team’s 4-1 start.
Dallas QB's attempts (W-L record), 2013
40+ (3-3)
30-39 (3-3)
20-29 (2-2)

We struggled to reach 8-8 last year because our defense sucked, no matter how often we ran.

The title "Ride him, Cowboys" was the only item of note in the whole article. For this team to continue to win, Murray needs to be fed and fed often. Running Murray protects our defense, protects Romo, protects our OL (pass protection is not their greatest strength).

lol. I just love the stats that show we were a 500 club, all around.

And are we discussing the fact that our defense was the reason we were a .500 club the last several years? Still? Can't we just declare that a known fact at this point and stop all the silliness about the other, largely unrelated or otherwise statistically-much-less-significant factors? One of the stages of grief is supposed to be 'acceptance,' after all.

Romo threw 10 interceptions last season. Ten. And one lost fumble. He was 4th-best in the league in fewest turnovers per dropback.

Any mention of Demarco's fumbles in that article?
