Yeah, yeah, yeah. I got nothing better to do.

2011 Cowboys Draft
1 Stephen Paea DE Oregon State - I count 12 Defensive Linemen with realistic chances of going in the 1st round. Paea is as talented as most of them but slides down to pick 32 because his of size (6-1/310). His strength and heart are off the charts.

2 Stanley Havili FB USC - Pac-10 Homer Alert! I know many of you feel that no fullback will go in the 2nd round. If Havili is available at pick 64, you take him. He is a weapon. He is a willing lead blocker, a dangerous receiver, and an effective ball carrier.

3 Dan Wenger C Notre Dame - Cory Procter's deal with the devil expires and we get a true back-up center.

4 Jason Teague CB TCU - We finally find our 4th CB (sorry Jamar Wall).

5 Joel Figueroa G Miami - Big, big boy (6-5/330). Will battle Practice Squad googlers for a reserve guard job.

Couldn't find a picture.

7 Chris Whitney QB Villanova - Some competition for Stephen McGee. Good-sized QB who led Villanova to the National title in the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA) in 2009.

I am hoping that if we get a corner next year it will be Aaron Williams from Texas. Right now, he is really the only player I care about us getting.

I havent even thought about the 2011 draft other than him.

I can see your obviously a Longhorn. I hate LSU and I'll admit Patrick Peterson is the top corner in this draft class. Williams looks really good too though; I just feel Peterson has extreme potential.

You're right, it's ridiculously way too early for a 2011 mock draft...

So here's mine... :D

1) Jerrell Powe, NT, Mississippi... 6-2, 330 pounds, 5.1 second 40... a huge anchor in the middle with some mobility...

2) John Moffitt, OG/C, Wisconsin... 6-5, 316 pounds, 5.15 second 40... Gabe Carimi gets all the Badgers publicity, Moffitt may be the better pro...

3) Case Keenum, QB, Houston... 6-1, 216 pounds, 4.8 second 40... yeah, it's a gimmick offense the Cougars run, but production is production... competition for Stephen McGee... his (lack of) height and his mobility are reminiscent of Romo coming out of college, as is his gunslinger mentality...

4) Alex Wujciak, ILB, Maryland... 6-3, 250 pounds, 4.7 second 40... a tackling machine for the Terps, posting over 130 in each of the last two years, he also has some cover ability (set the UM record for most interception return yards last year)... where Sean Lee would be the heir apparent to Keith Brooking, Wujciak would be the future replacement for Bradie James (he's more the run-stuffing ILB)...

5) Donald Buckram, RB, UTEP... 5-9, 200 pounds, 4.45 second 40... he's not big, his speed is good but not great... but again, production is production, and he gained 1569 yards last year (4th in the nation), while being the Miners only real offensive threat... he's kind of like Emmitt in a way, in that he sees the whole field, sets up his blocks, and when he finds a crease, he hits it in a hurry...

6) Phil Taylor, OG, Baylor (conversion from DT)... 6-4, 350 pounds, 5.35 second 40... he's probably too slow to make it as a NT, but scouts are already projecting him as a conversion project to OG... I might try him first at NT, then look to move him if his speed isn't adequate for the defensive side of the ball...

7) Owen Marecic, FB, Stanford... 6-1, 245 pounds, 4.7 second 40... a converted linebacker, he actually saw some time on both sides of the ball in 2009... is also a good special teamer... he is reportedly a smashmouth bulldozer of a fullback and one of the secrets to Toby Gerhart's success last season...

I also like massive OT Marcus Cannon from TCU (6-5, 350 pounds. 5.35 second 40) in the second round range, and late in the draft, there's a WR from little Mount Union who intrigues the hell out of me... his name is Cecil Shorts III, he's listed at 6-2, 195 pounds and credited with a 4.35 40 (he's a hurdler on the track team)... but it's not just his measurables that fascinate me, look at these numbers:

2009-- 15 games played, 100 receptions for 1736 yards and 19 TDs... 34 rushes for 206 yards and 8 TDs...

2008-- 15 games played (Mount Union is a perennial playoff contender, having already won 10 national championships), 77 catches for 1484 yards and 23 TDs...

That's right, in 30 games played, he has 177 catches, for 3220 yards (18.2 yards per catch), and 42 receiving TDs... he's added 9 rushing TDs, for 51 TDs in 30 games... friends, that's pure domination...

And as an added bonus, he has played some QB for Mount Union... character issues won't be a problem for him, he's an active member in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and he mentors some elementary school kids...

What's not to like?? :D
