Riley Leonard- Your Thoughts?

He seems to check a lot of the boxes that you want for a QB. Big, mobile,good arm,and smart.

Should Dallas pick him if he's there say in the 2nd round?

He was a lot better when he played for Duke. He was injured pretty bad his 2nd season, and ever since then he hasn't seemed like the same player.

He used to have touch and more velocity to his throws. Now he misses on way to many easy throws. He is a 1 read QB now, who either hits short underneath routes or tucks it and runs.

If it were 2 years ago I would say a 2nd round grade. With what he has shown this year and last, I am thinking a 4/5 is more suitable.

I’m not sure how he translates to the NFL and may be more of a taysom hill type than a legitimate starting caliber qb. I’d say anything before day 3 is going to be a stretch for taking Leonard.

There are spots for 96 QBs in this league with three per team. I think he is good enough to be one of em? Starter? Probably not. Certainly not here. They are going to spend the next four years trying to justify the Dak extension. Maybe a backup or inactive on a well coached team though.

Great leader, great kid, very tough, but is not consistently accurate enough throwing the football and he does not have great arm strength. I'm a huge ND homer, but I don't think he would ever be much more than a clip board holder in the NFL.

he played his guts out this year and left it all out on the field. But its clear he is not a starter in the NFL

I think we should draft one with one of our late-rounders this year. You never know what you'll find. Plus, at this point, we need a backup.

Wasn't a big fan of his game in ND and how it could translate.
