Hand the ball off, run safe screen passes at most. At least until your threatened. Stafford could not do nothing, until they were sparked by Romo's BS.

Romo deserves majority of the blame but you can't forget Garrett's horrible playcalling. On those 2 interceptions for TDs, he should have been running the ball. Garrett is not the answer at coach. Get rid of him.

Offense had their way with the Detroit Defense in the 1st half. Romo feasted on their typical zones and loose man coverage.

Second half, the Lion;s adjusted and stopped giving up the easy slants, hitches and short outs. Red not only kept calling the same routes, he stopped running the ball when they had over 100 yards running in hte 3rd quarter.

Its very odd and simply shows that while Red is a great HC;
1. He cant adjust the offense during a game.
2. Doesnt have a good feel for play calling on game day. I bet his 1st series or two is scripted and thus Dallas always comes out fast then fades.
3. Has no belief in the running the ball as a core team principal. He always defaults to the pass, even in silly 3-2 calls.

I dont think Dallas will have much success deep into the playoffs under Red. He will need to find a counterpart to be an OC of some sort. Much like Reid brought someone in that helped give the Philly offense a running game.

Romo may not be here to enjoy that running game or maybe Red will learn to do bring in someone on his next coaching job. I think this game starts the mental clock running in Jerry's eyes.

Agreed. It's all on Garrett. After the first INT, why do you continue to put the ball in Romo's hands and ask him to make plays when we're running the ball so well? Why have Romo force the ball vertically downfield when we have the ball with four minutes left?

Nothing makes sense. Garrett can't reel in Romo if he can't reel in himself.

I never even said they should ONLY run. If you think going to a run heavy offense to drain the clock and protect the lead is moronic, more power to ya.

You just can't be out there gunning when you're up 24. They were running the ball decently at that point too. I'm not going to rip Garrett because the blame goes all around, but I will say I think the playcalling should have been far more conservative before the two pick sixes.
