RIP Kenny Rogers

Wow, striking resemblance to Jeff Bridges there......

Yes, its because it is. The song was used in The Big Lebowski which I presume is where a lot know it from, but if you listened to the radio early 70s you more than likely heard it. The song was written by someone whos name escapes me but Kenny Rodgers/The First Edition turned it into a hit. It was pretty psychedelic and am certain it was about drugs. The stuff he did later was a total 180.

Ok, thought I was living in bizarro world :lmao:

I don’t really know what Kenny looked like before the silver-gray but Jeff is the first thing I saw.

Probably one of the first Pop-Country superstars... he really never sang pure country music (Lucille was the closest), but he did have some good songs and was reportedly a very generous guy. I pass his mom's house in Crockett everytime I travel to see my mom in Lufkin...

RIP fellow East Texan...

Holy crap, I had forgotten that he was such a good looking guy right up till he had that tragic plastic surgery. He was never the same after that. RIP Kenny.
