RIP Nikki McKibbin

Singer Nikki McKibbin, who finished third in American Idol's first season in 2002, died of a brain aneurysm that she suffered on October 28th. She was taken off life support yesterday. She was 42.

It's weird. Rest in Peace seems to be the thing to say when someone passes away, but I still have no idea what it means and how that comforts anyone. Just seems like words when you're at a loss for them I guess. But for this young lady just a life cut short and for her family I'm sure there are no words that will help the situation.
