One Day at a Time had some of the worst casting they had Mackenzie Phillips a tall skinny real life crack addict playing the sister of Valerie Bertinelli. They looked nothing like sisters and Bonnie Franklin who played their mom had red hair and freckles. The casting rivaled Bonanza with none of the family members looking related. You had Dan Blocker an unattractive 6' 3" 300 pound brute with a receding hairline playing the bother of Micheal Landon a short, skinny good looking guy with a mop of hair. Both Dan Blocker and Pernell Roberts were only 13 years younger than Lorne Greene who played their father.
Great point about Bonanza and the Cartwright clan.
Only Michael Landon never wore a hairpiece on the show. Even Hop-sing's pony-tail was a piece.

You're forgetting that all of the sons on Bonanza had different mothers, which accounts for them not having similar looks.
Yeah. His character was a little on the sleazy side but he was still funny.
Getting old folks.
