RapSheet: Whoa: Tuck Rule is changing. If the passer loses control going forward it's still INC. If he loses ball while tucking, it's a fumble.

Oakland Raiders are asking if a Super Bowl Trophy is included with this offer...

Bout time. Now the question is going to be how many times the refs screw this up trying to decide what they're going to call going forward or tucking the ball for a fumble.

I bet there is at least 2 blown calls this season in regards to this.

Yep. Adding more room for the refs to make judgement calls is simply going to increase the screw ups.

Why? That one play doesn't guarantee the Raiders go on to win the AFC championship the following week or the Superbowl after that.

No, but it guaranteed that they DIDN'T.

Doing away with this makes more sence, I recall the former ufl had the no tuck rule in place and it seemed to work just fine. I will agree that I can see it causeing problems for the refs trying to figure out what to call, and it even having an effect on a games outcome this season

They made that rule for one play. What a friggin joke. At least the Emmitt rule was because he took his helmet off all the time. The Roy Williams rule hurt people all the time. The Marion BArber rule - he Jap slapped head slapped so many people into submission something had to be done. But a rule for one play just to cover your *** because you missed the correct call is blatant bias.

It didn't do that, either. The Pats were still trailing even after that play. They went on to move into FG position and kick the tying FG in regulation after the infamous tuck call. They then won in overtime. The Raiders still had a good chance to win that game even with the call going against them. They didn't.
