Just saw it and was going to post. I grew up with him in movies and was lucky enough to meet him quickly in Santa Fe. A literal Tombstone for a legend. Him and Hackman...ouch. RIP

RIP. I literally just got done watching Top Secret, then came here less than an hour later and found out he died. Such an entertaining actor in his time.

I can't tell you how much this saddens me to the core. Top Gun has been my favorite movie since I can remember. The characters really define it, especially its main antagonist, Iceman. Val was so influential in that movie's iconic success.

Sad that he had such a difficult last phase of his life, but now he's at peace.

We will always be your wingman, Val.

Sad to hear this. I really liked him as an actor. And we saw him develop from Real Genius to Tombstone and beyond. Never got the credit he deserved. RIP, Val.

An all time favorite is Wonderland. Grossly underrated film. He was great as John Holmes

If you ever want to do a double feature, try Boogie Nights and Wonderland sometime

His documentary film Val is well worth watching, released in 2021. Im sure it’s available on the usual streaming sites. Definitely deserved an Oscar foe Best Supporting Actor in Tombstone. Love him as Jim Morrison too!
