Missed for sure...the National League's M&M boys...Mantle and Maris in the American League. What a home run race that was!

McCovey is so underrated. No one mentions him as an all time great, but he definitely was.

Hitting .270 through the 70's when the pitching mounds were mountains is a remarkable achievement. And don't overlook his .374 lifetime on base percentage. Stellar.
