this is a new singing competition show that started last night. country singer brad paisley, rapper ludacris, and pop singer kesha are the "experts" with singer josh groban as the host.

the thing with this show is that the public can vote for who they want to see in the next round in real time(no joke)via an app, which has some issues as i discovered as i tried to vote last night. also some of the singers featured on last night's episode made me cringe. still, here were three who stood out to me:

any thoughts on this show?

Very proud of the fact I have never watched any show like that ever; or any reality show ever.

Granted reality-based TV shows (and that's how they should be described "reality-based") are an acquired taste.

I don't watch any of the singing/dancing/see how funny I am kind a shows. I'm amazed Kristie has the TV time to keep up with'em all!

Given the opportunity at some TV watching time I'm into the business-related ones like "Bar Rescue", "Kitchen Nightmares" and "The Profit". They entertain and teach (me) at the same time. I'll catch some "Storage Wars" or "Shipping Wars" for mindless fun.

That being said "Big Brother" starts tonight and that's another of those mindless fun kinda things.

Reality shows are getting all cutthroat. Though that would stop me from watching shows like Survivor. Can't stand Gordon Ramsay. He is over the top, if you know what I mean Michael. Just think people like that need to be put in their place. But that Rising Star sounds interesting!

Reality shows are getting out of hand for sure but that doesn't mean there aren't some quality ones out there. I prefer the adventure ones(Man vs Wild, Survivorman, Deadliest Catch, etc), cooking(Next Food Network Star and MasterChef) and a few of the originals such as The Amazing Race, Survivor and Big Brother(love the drama :D).

As for the Ramsey shows, since I met and chatted with him at one of his places in LA(The Fat Cow), I have been a fan of his. He is really not like that in person, just a TV persona. He even invited me into the kitchen for a tour and bought us a bottle of nice wine.

But, hands down, The Amazing Race is the best one out there and it has not changed much from day one!

These music comps are getting stale IMO, even The Voice(twice a year is too much).

Tomorrow night, get your facts straight sir!

I also thought tonight as we rushed back from Cozumel to Dallas and drove back to Houston all to be disappointed :(

this was, IMO, the only standout performance from tonight's show:
