Rivera may be an option

funny as it seems but if he looks like he may have some gas in the tank after this second surgery, he may be a viable backup at guard as his deal looks small now in comparison to some of the money being passed out these past few days for guys that are not much better than Rivera

its unfortunate about rivera, the guy sure had heart and always tried hard.. if we could put riveras heart in leonard davis' body then he'd be a MONSTER.

How much will it save in cap room assuming Fabini and Rivra are cut? (99% sure they will be and should be)

Why should Fabini be cut? He's cheap and played well as a backup last season.

...just yet. If you go up and down our roster for lineman I wouldn't think it wise to cut anyone yet.

Rivera goes if he decides to retire or says he can't make it on the field. Anything else and you have to line him up in camp and see what he has left. It's not the starters you have to be worried about, it's also the depth.

I could see Rivera staying as a backup if his back is ok. But your second herniated disc operation is not a very good sign.

Have you not been watching him play the last few years? Id rather see Dallas throw a rookie in there.

I think Ric Ocasek, former lead singer of the Cars, could block better than Rivera.
