Trying to load an *.iso file and it's asking for this file that is nowhere on my computer.

How does one get this particular file?

Try searching for it
Where? I've already mentioned it's not on my 'puter. I've done a full *.msi search and it never came up.

Searched Yahoo and one site wanted to charge $30 for access to their site. The other sites I checked were either too tech-filled or were looking for something other than the file I need.

Sounds like your burning software isnt working correctly. Try re-installing it or go to download.com they have some good free burning software.

An .msi file is a database of all the files, settings, and configuration information for the associated application.
It seems to be an installation problem. Try to reinstall.
If you like to mount the .iso file, Daemon Tools is doing the job for me:

I think I saw that site last night, but I'd never heard of it and didn't want to download something and totally mess up my 'puter.

No. I got an iso file for MS project. And for some reason, it wants the rneng.msi for Sonic Record Now, tho I already have it installed. I popped the re-install CD into the 'puter to look at the system files and that wasn't one of them, so I figured I'd ask on here to get some feedback.

MSI an installer file that use windows installer to install and uninstall apps. It is trying to add, update or remove features and is looking for the msi file to do so. I see this error with the Sonic software that comes preloaded with the Dells we get in every once in a while.

Actually, I didn't. The problem is I don't know what I'm supposed to do once I've loaded those applications. Their help information is pretty poor. So I was kinda SOL.

All I want to do is install ms project off an iso file.

I loaded both imgburn and daemon tools. But I didn't know how to run the application. I've got a copy of the iso file on a CD and on my 'puter. Tried using the applications from both locations. And then something ugly happened with my 'puter, so I uninstalled both.

download extractNow after you install it right click on the .iso file and and choose open With then navigate to the extractNow.exe file and open the .iso file with it. Then extract its contents to your hard drive, after that run the setup.exe to install project.
