Road-trip

New York to Nebraska a few times, New York to Dallas once, Virginia to
Nebraska last year.

I can't say that I would ever take a long road trip like that again unless it was in a motor home or van. Some type of vehicle that I could get up and move around.

My back is bad and sitting for that long without getting up is hell on me.

Dallas / Fort Worth to San Diego or San Francisco and back several times.

I also drove from Dallas / Fort Worth to NY when I moved up here in 2005.

We are currently drivi ng to DC from Charlotte. We just got back from doing Charlotte to Key West.

I was dead set against a mini van until I took a road trip in one. This thing is a cruising machine.

You win!!!

Not sure that is a winning drive. :laugh2: 2 hard days of driving. That was also the last long distance trip by car I took. After that if the drive is more than 5 hours I fly.

I have driven to DFW from Anchorage, AK. 2x so far.

My father just returned from his motorhome trip.

Anchorage to Santa Ana, CA.

Cali to Flagstaff

Flagstaff to Tulsa

Tulsa to Bismark, ND

ND to Edmonton, Canada

Candada back to Anchorage

I can't pull myself to do a trip like that. Even my son begged to come home w/ me once I left Cali. He said he "couldn't take the motorhome anymore dad."

Road trips are fun w/ the right ppl though. :)

I took a trip around the US in 1996. We went from Pgh to CA and then up to OR and back to Pgh. 22 Days total.

All in all, it was about 6700 miles and we used about $300 for gas. Gas was around $1/gallon at the time. We spent around $25 on tolls.

There were 3 of us on the trip. It costs roughly about $1000/person total for everything, including hotel, food, trinkets, gas, tolls, and laundry.

We tried to hit every scenic road and national park we could. The highlight of the trip was Bryce Canyon's Inspiration Point.

I will be doing a similar trip next year in the spring with my wife.

Orange County , CA to Orange county (Poughkeepsie area) NY. And back.

I was young so I didn't drive so it didn't bother me. I just had unlimited texting so I remember racking up about 5000+ texts that month.

Dallas to Omaha,Nebraska is the farthest I've driven alone. It's not, however, the longest road-trip I've been on. My father's from North Dakota (that state just south of Canada in the middle of the country). We used to drive there every summer.

I really like being out in the country like that since I'm a city boy. I had no clue it could LITERALLY get PITCH BLACK outside to the point of not being able to see someone right next to you (I know some of you think i'm about ******** right now). We used to drive up the farm road, pull over, and turn off the headlights. You could not see a single light in any directions. The stars in the sky are AMAZING with no light pollution (again..i'm a city boy). I could nerd-out and check out those stars all night. You can even see satellites going over the sky. SO COOL.
