Anyone hear how his rehab has gone? Has there been any talk in the metroplex about how the organization feels about him and his potential at this point? If dallas can hit a home run on this kid, it would be huge.

The time for him to be able to come back passed. He is officially on the PUP for the entire year. The coaching staff believe he is going to be a good one. Very determined in rehab.

What position does the coaching staff think he'll play?

That's great to hear. It sure would be great if we ended up hitting on both Free and Brewster. That'd make things a lot easier for us this offseason.

They liked his movement skills before he got hurt, and he seems to have the right attitude about his rehab, working to get gain strength, which is the area of his game most in doubt.

Houck seemed to love him based on what (little) he's said. And Wade said before they IR'd him something to the effect of, "We think we've found a player."

Man, if Free can take over at LT and Brewster can become a good starter at RT that would be so great. We'd still need to draft for the middle of the line, but having good young tackles would be grand. The best part is I think Columbo still has a couple good years left in the tank at RT if Brewster needs time to come along.

There were draft guys that thought Brewster would make a better guard than a tackle... But I guess we'll see.

I still think the team will draft an OT early come April.

Wasnt one of the knocks on him that he needed to build up his strength? So a year in the weight and conditioning program will do him good anyway as far as this year was concerned

We should probably just use our top 3 draft picks on O-linemen next April, but lord knows that's not going to happen.

I think Brewster will end up at guard in place of Kosier after Kosier's contract runs out next year.

Between Colombo, Free, and Brewster, we might be okay at T. Really, I think we need a G/C type who is very smart. We must expunge Teh Procter.

And I think Brewster stays at T because he has long enough arms to play there.

Actually, with Spears possibly gone and who knows with Hatcher, we need more D-linemen and an ILB.

another guy im hoping works out for us is on the practice squad and that is Travis Bright. That would be sweet if he worked out for us as well.

He came on better than I thought he would. Big, strong guy who probably will always be fighting to overcome a lack of athleticism.

I think he started to figure things out techniquewise as the preseason progressed and might at least give us a better backup option than a lot of those guys we've been running out at guard.

Except Dallas needs a FS, probably another very good CB, and someone to replace Brooking when he's done in the next year or 2.

I think that Spears will be resigned after his showing the past two season. I think that he will get a lucrative contract, but give the Cowboys a hometeam discount and stays.

J Williams is the resident replacement for a future opening at middle linebacker, and even Bobby Carpenter could grow more strongly that way as well. Williams showed up on special teams play against New Orleans.

I look for the four defensive ends to stay around for two to three more seasons, and this would include both Hatcher and Bowen, who has been very strong in a rotational role. I am still holding out for a future role by Marcus Dixon. He and Bowen would be a good pair in rotation. We shall see here.

I am liking the prospects of a still developing Free for the swing and left side backup, and Brewster as the sub for Colombo on the strong side.

I agree as to the need as a strong player to fill the role in the interior offensive line...or maybe both a guard and a center to develop up together.

I don't forsee contract problems in retaining both Ken Hamlin and Sensabaugh...so I think that Pat Watkins, Ball, and 'rook' Hamlin as adequate for backside strength at safety. I still like Newman, and his 17 defensed passes so far have me still sold on his future in Dallas. Ball can still be the 'swing' man able to play both safety and corner, but I would like one more young and fast corner added to Jenkins and Scandrick, projecting to a future secondary as well.

Looking right now, I would keep an eye to middle linebacker, incase Bobby Carpenter was deemed expendable. I would look to add a pair of offensive interior linemen, a super fast cornerback, and a dominant defensive tackle either for the nose, or a projected dominating influence to add to that of Ware, Spencer, and Ratliff...
