Per this website, it says that Gronk’s cap hit for 2021 was $3M. For that money, I think he would be worth checking out. He played in all regular season games in 2020 (when Bucs won the SB) and only missed around 4 games this year, but still produced around 800 yards receiving. Guy is (or at least was) a solid blocking TE, too - which our TEs are not known for. A good blocking TE would help immensely for our running game, and allow us to be more successful with under center snaps.

I just watch guys like Travis Kelce and Gronk - huge guys who can catch and out muscle typical corners and some LBs - and think “wow, if only our TEs could do that”.

Thoughts? I know he’s on the latter part of his career and probably wouldn’t abandon Brady (if he stays in TB) but he still had a productive season, and I’m just making conversation.

My thoughts, too.

But at the very least we should be looking to draft someone with a similar skillset. Maybe in the later rounds.
I'd love a big, physical TE.

For as great as Witten was I hated watching him catch it and immediately hit the dirt for like the last decade of his career. Shultz is kind of the same way.

I'd like a TE that could break a few tackles and be tough to take down.

He really got paid 8mil

It was a 1 year deal worth 8mil. 1.75mil base, 6.25mil Signing bonus

The kicker was that it had 4 void years to spread out his signing bonus.

If he does retire they are left with a 5mil dead cap next year

Too big a personality for Jerry's taste.

He will steal mic and camera time.

I don’t think Jerry would mind having Rob.

What do you think our plan should be for TE? Keep Schultz and Jarwin? Sign someone mediocre from FA? Draft high or low?

I'd let Schultz walk and cut Jarwin.

Maybe the fourth time is the charm on a 2nd round TE.

Sign a cheap vet as #2 and go with McKeon at 3.

2nd round might be a bit high. In our first 2 rounds I’d like to have OL and either DL/LB.

I have to believe that he goes where Tom Brady goes and if Tom retires I think he retires with him.

And both get inducted into the Hall of Fame

I don't see him ever playing for anyone but Brady.

I think so too. At this point he's playing for the fun of it, not money. From what I've heard, he lives off of his endorsements, banks his game checks. He has no need for money.

For as wild and goofy as he acts he seems to have been very smart with his money.

Good on him.

he only came out of retirement to play with Brady and chance at another title. Already accomplished doubt he plays for anyone else and retires,

what makes you think he would come to dallas, when he has said he won't play with anyone but Brady. last time, Brady had to call him and convince him to come back. he makes more that in retirement than he would ...

this ain't madden NFL or fantasy football.
