Rob Marinelli stats

Alright maybe it won't be the end of this world if Rod moves on to be anything up our DL coach.

Only the DC stats in Chicago matter. He was a bad HC in Detroit, irrelevant to his DC work in Chicago. 4th, 14th and 3rd I will take that.

No one in this team or coaching staff is indispensable. That should be Jerry's mindset in order to foster an atmosphere of competition and constant striving for excellence..

I agree. A smart team would force TB to give a pick for him if they really want him, but Jerry can't get 2nd round picks for 1st round picks on draft day, he sure as heck is not getting a pick for a coach.

It's also going to be tough to attract a new DC with the real possibility of having a one and done season with JG as HC.
Rod did a good job with what he had. He did a good job in Chicago, but he also had more talent to work with, and he could do a solid job here. Of course, if someone is willing to give up a draft pick for him then I'd take it.

On the flipside of that maybe a DC hoping for a HC spot will find the fact that there is a lameduck coach appealing as they get to show what they can do and maybe be in the mix to be HC next year.

Its not like jj will let the next coach hire his own staff.
