This dude actually had the audacity to say the reason Pyror isn't hyped up by alot of people is because he's black. :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

Someone get this clown off my TV.

He looked like Tebow without the ability to run the ball.

Scatter armed QBs have a short shelf life. Guy couldnt hit water if he fell out of a boat

What should he be hyped up for? He got plenty of hype when he was at Ohio State, but that was a long time and a Suspension ago.

Heck, the Raiders thought so much of him that they brought in Matt Leinart so they didn't have to rely on him for meaningful snaps.

Ya he needs work and he can run. But hes not the worst ive seen. we have 2 on our team alone he's better than lol.

I see why you put lol at the end of your sentence.

My HS QB is better than Pryor because he CAN throw the ball. :D

The reason that Pryor isn't getting hyped:

There was a play where he was scrambling in the 4th, he shed the attempted tackled of baraka Atkins(for about the 4th time) and made another player miss, rolled out of the pocket and throws a ball towards the sidelines that falls incomplete. He extends the play but couldn't make a pretty routine NFL QB throw.

Rob Parker is there to be an easy 'foil' for Skip to make his points in response to... that's all. He's got an innocent-esque, counterpoint part, and he plays it pretty well, IMO. Not an idiot, but hard to take seriously.

Man, I think he might be onto something here, b/c Black QBs NEVER get more press than white ones, do they?

No hes a clown. I have a buddy from Detroit (where Rob Parker cut his teeth) and he's been a clown his entire writing career with a bad hairline.

There's one universal about professional sports. If you're one of the best, you will get media coverage no matter your background. In fact, sometimes the more unusual your background is, the more media exposure you get.

Last year in the NFL it was the Cam Newton show. This year will be the Luck and RG3 show. The media is already hyping both of them up and if one or both of them fail, the media will have their whole second half of the season and off-season story lines set for them.

Well, I'm gonna choose to defer to your insider knowledge about the guy.

All this time I've been giving Rob the benefit of the doubt, thinking his goofy-but-harmless schtick was just Made-for-ESPN writing... having him serve up nonsensical remarks to make Skip look smart, when delivering his counterpoints.

Now I'm wondering just how fragile Skip's ego is — not that I haven't questioned his ego before — if he feels he needs an actual buffoon to debate against, on such a regular basis.

More insider knowledge - I actually dated a girl (she's now married) who works as a production member on First Take for ESPN. I asked her about Skip the last time I talked to her and she said that Skip is all real. None of it is just made for TV.

I can think of a couple other reasons.

Like. Hasn't played.

Drafted in the supplemental is a pretty big ding as well in terms of selling a guy as some sort of hero.

Looks as though I'm gonna have to reassess my whole take re: First Take's On-Air Personalities, if I can make myself care enough to do so. :D

Thanks for all the insider info... but please stop, while I'm behind. Next thing, you'll be tellin' me the Wizard of Oz isn't all powerful and he isn't all knowing.
What... just a man behind a curtain, I suppose?! Please. :laugh2:
