The 2011 NFL Draft is still 16 days away, but NFL teams are already making phone calls about potentially draft-day trades.

According to multiple sources in the league, the Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans, Washington Commanders and Chicago Bears are all exploring their options.

The Broncos, owners of the No. 2 overall pick, are thought the unlikeliest to actually be able to trade out of their selection. The significant cost of signing a player drafted that high and this year's lack of an elite prospect hurts their chances.

It's interesting that Rang doesn't consider the defensive players "elite prospects". The Broncos could make their defense better by taking Dareus or Peterson. Dumerville will be back and I would think that those factors alone wold make a difference. Washington is paying for their bad draft strategy over the past few years and just plain need talent. It will be interesting to see if the other teams share that view of the quality of the draft. If they share the Bronco's assessment, then it will be very hard to trade down. Personally, I hope that JJ doesn't reach and that the Boys pick players that will contribute and pleasantly surprise.

I looked up draft history over the past five years and note that there are plenty of "misses" on players that we all liked. Plenty of "pet cats" went to other teams and are no longer in the league. The draft is a crap shoot that you sometimes get lucky in.

they say this every year and every year i dont see it happening, the SKINS come on, they aer the detriot lions, they will never give up that pick, even if they have to reach, IE Jason Campbell, they never under Synder will give it up.

This is lame lame lame lame lame writing. Like the lions were going to miss out on Suh, come on. Every year teams and fans think everyone in the top ten is going to change their team around and most dont. But does that stop them from thinking it, no, does it slow them down, no.

Lets wait to see but i dont think its happening until everyone, and i mean everyone without a clue finally figures out that the draft doesnt need to be hyped up because its a crap shoot and the combine and word of mouth tells you NOTHING about a player.

I don't see the Titans passing up a big time player based on a bunch of QBs who may bust out. If Nick Fairley is on the board, the Titans will pounce. If Robert Quinn is on the board, the Titans will pounce. Cameron Jordan and J.J. Watt are players that interest them, too.

Call me crazy but I believe John Elway and the Broncos really want their "own" QB. Trading down and still getting Gabbert would be ideal for them I believe.

I think Gabbert goes to Buffalo

they are still looking for Jim Kelly 2.0

I think its pretty clear that Von Miller is their #1 option.

Just say no! Not enough talent in the draft to trade your first and 3rd picks for the 2nd overall pick.

End the lockout. Send #9, #71 and Bennett for #2.

Take Patrick Peterson. Get our OL at #40.

Well the bears are the option to move up I was wonering about. Good spot for Aaron Williams, or the last 1st round tackle.
