I wasn't a big Ryan fan, but his D did very well considering all their injuries. Garrett has been a failure since 2007. I wonder which one of Jerra's "outside consultants" told him to do this?

Garrett doesn't need anyone to apologize for him, but I wanted Ryan gone irrespective of his performance the last two years. And I don't see anyone lobbying for him leaving for any reason other than the HC and the organization thought there was an opportunity to improve at DC. That's not hypocrisy by any stretch of the word. That's simply using your best judgement to do your job to the best of your ability. Coordinators aren't given time to implement their programs. They work for the head coach, and they need to keep him happy, or they get fired.

He's definitely a candidate for any HC gig out there. The Bears were crazy to let him go, frankly. But he'll also have other options down the road, and is reportedly interested in the Cowboys. I can easily see him interested in the position. There's nothing wrong with taking a coordinator job while waiting for the HC slot you want.

Norv Turner, too, wouldn't shock me, for similar reasons.

Honestly. I don't mind criticism of JG. There's enough to criticize there. I don't see why people reach for such elaborate twists of logic to try to say they just don't like the guy or want him here. We're already embarking on our coaching changes under Garrett. We won't back up and fire him now, unless a better coach were to become suddenly available after the playoffs, maybe. But that's not going to happen.

We're in-it-to-win-it with the idiot daywalker, or whatever it is we're using to insult him with this week. Get used to it.

Difference with Norv is his HC track record is not on par with Lovie, not even close to me. Norv the OC is a brilliant mind, Norv the HC...middle of the road. Cooke and Snyder, not to mention Al Davis gave Norv everything they could to succeed. The Bears ownership is among the cheapest in the NFL.

It all depends how the available gigs were breaking down. What's left right now? San Diego, PHI, CLE, and AZ? Of those gigs, if I were Lovie, only San Diego would interest me right now. Jobs like CLE and AZ will be around every year, and this is a bad year to get your franchise QB. PHI looks like a disaster waiting to happen next year to me. There's a lot of dysfunction on that team, it's an unruly fan base in an armpit of a city with a lot of dead QB money on it's books. SD job is a gem, if it's available, but he might easily have heard they're leaning heavily in another direction.

I can easily see him bide time in DAL for a season, see what happens there, and then cherry pick a decent job where he's got a chance at actually bringing in a QB next year and rebuilding successfully.

I'm not saying he will come here, though. Only that it's not all that far-fetched. Honestly, there are coordinator jobs that might be better jobs than HC spots in backwater NFL organizations where building a winner is almost impossible. Not just in Dallas, but in several places around the league.

Who knows, maybe he's looking at Shanahan's job next season if you guys ever get your QB healthy .
