Remember when Ryan was flagged last season for getting heated?

Anyone have a good response as to why Coughlin wasn't flagged during the game during his rant towards the refs? I believe he also threw a challenge flag as well even though it wasn't a play that could of been challenged...

Maybe I am wrong but throwing the flag to argue more with the refs about a call that didn't go your way justified a penalty... did it not? That man was heated and I was waiting for a penalty flag to come out.

Ryan didn't even use the flag last year and got the penalty.

Garrett apparently thought it should have. If nothing else, a delay of game penalty ought to have been forthcoming, right?

That should have cost a TimeOut or been penalized. There are no other options.

The Cowboys ought to contact the league office about that. Ridiculous.

Moving forward, is this the new standard? Can Garrett legally stall the refs by throwing a challenge flag for no reason other than to argue with them more (and give his team a breather in the process) without it costing him a challenge OR a timeout?

Probably not. More like a one-time exception for the revered Tom Coughlin.

Yep that was blatant and should have been a flag on coughlin.

The ny media should be killing coughlin today for allowing his team to act the way it did, acting like a fool on the sideline and then whining about the refs after the game and not to mention he encourages his players to talk trash when they play us.

He is responsible for that.

Coughlin has some of the best sideline tantrums - There was a time when it seemed that he would get the benefit of future calls in a game after one of his displays but now i think the refs are tired of the act. Still funny to see it though.

I really wanted JG to throw his red flag to prove a point there, and that was the only way to do it seeing as they were trying to whitewash it, etc.

Instead, I read an article last night indicating Scandrick had started talking trash before the game and then followed that up with his post game twitter spree. Did I miss something? Or was that just more NY press justifying their players trash after the fact?

That's the ny media. They dislike losing to us as much as the players do.

Gary Myers column this morning is laughable. Acting like romo losses every close game and that he never beats the giants. Completely ignorant on purpose because he hates when Dallas wins.

Ralph vachiano was hysterical on the pregame show yesterday on 105.3. Those guys all act like the giants are the patriots. Yes they have their two trophies and they are well deserved but if you look at the rest of the time that team has been together under manning they have quit twice in 08 and 09.... Blown a big lead in the east in 10 and 12 and been beat at home in the playoffs three times, once getting shutout.

And romo played well in ny in 06, 07, 09, 12 and now 13. His one below average game up there was 11 and there were a lot of people p,saying poorly for Dallas that day.

Anyway, yes anytime the ny media reports on Dallas players responding they forget the responding part and always have...it's always that Dallas talks which almost never true. Even the giants players were saying they were building it up yesterday because they knew the implications.

Absolutely! the refs had to stop the game because Coughlin was so pissed about the call he just threw his red flag onto the field. That's blatent delay of game. Too much respect for Coughlin there.

As much as I give JG his due share of criticism, I was glad Coughlin wasn't on our sideline. That whole Coughlin/Mara love fest from the league officials needs to stop.

Taunting is illegal during a game. What about during the pregame warmups? A riot could have starting because of the Giants idiocy before the game started.

Goodell should fine the Giants $100,000 for that fiasco. But I know he won't.

I am curious as to how many fines the Giants collectively earned the NFL yesterday. Should be enough to feed each child Thanksgiving, at least in Texas.
