I guess he is some super human.

Washington Commanders quarterback Robert Griffin III announced on his Twitter page that doctors have cleared him to begin practicing with the team. Griffin III said head coach Mike Shanahan will “ease” him back into training camp when the Commanders open camp in Richmond, Va., on July 25.

Griffin III, the 2012 Offensive Rookie of the Year, had surgery on January 9 to repair torn anterior cruciate and lateral collateral ligaments in his right knee. Dr. James Andrews, the orthopedist who performed surgery on Griffin III’s knee, said Griffin III’s recovery has been nothing short of “unbelievable” and “superhuman.”

In his rookie season, Griffin III threw for 3,200 yards with 20 touchdowns and five interceptions.

I hope he starts game 1. I'm curious to see how his sophomore year goes. Kinda predicting Cam Newton II

You do realize Cam Newton's passer rating went up, and while his completion % dropped slightly, 60 to 57.7, so if his passer rating goes up from 102, and his completion % drops say from his 65.6 to 62, I am guessing I would still be ok with that. Of course, Cam Newton went from 17 Int's to 12, a drop of 5, so if Griffin were to drop 5 interceptions he would have, hmm, 0. I guess I could live with that.

I don't have stats between years in front of me, but I'm guessing the panthers as an offense didn't improve year over year, with essentially the same personnel.
I also think defenses will be more effective against these option offenses as there's more and more game film. And one bet I'm willing to make, is that Ware lays ol' Bobby out if they run the option to his side again and he's unblocked.

if I can add to that bet that on a play where Ware lays Griffin out the ball carrier/receiver gains 6+ yards I would take that bet. Defenses aren't suddenly looking at something that has not been seen before, and likewise the offenses are not standing pat on last years plays. If you want to take out one of your best players so he can get a meaningless shove on Griffin, I imagine our team will consider that a win. Ware certainly isn't going to be taking cheap shots, he isn't that type of player.

What a lazy comparison.

Do a little better then that

... I'm happy about Griffin's return tbh. But... do you think RG3 was just showing the Hooters girl how stable his knee was? LOL

Adam Schefter stated today that he's heard through sources close to Shanahan that RG3 will likely not play in the preseason to avoid any chances of him getting reinjured before the season begins. Seems to me like he will definitely be ready for Week 1 against Philly.

Shanahan knows that it's just a matter of time before Griffin gets hurt again. Running QB's don't last in the NFL.

It's pretty awesome how far the field of medical science has come over the years. To think that not too terribly long ago a injury like that meant at least one calendar year out of the sport and then likely another full year for it to come back to full strength....and now guys are being cleared to play in a matter of months from the initial injury.

Amazing.
