Anyone else think he would be a very good reserve runner? He is also a very good kick returner.

I laughed when the Commanders drafted him. A 5'7" fullback? But he's been a pretty solid player for them the past few years.

Not sure why they haven't resigned him or anything but I'd take him as our #3 runner over Tyson Thompson, Warrick Dunn, or anyone else available.

i think people would expect too many bonanza reruns on the jumbotron.

According to ExtremeSkins, Cartwright wants $2M SB or guarantee and it sounds like the Skins only want give him the minimum cause he's essentially just their return man and doesn't contribut elsewhere. Cartwright was ranked 6th in returns. We too close to the cap to pay kind of money he wants. If he was a decent backup at another position, that's something else. Besides, maybe one of the players we draft is a good return man.

I like him as a return man and he couldn't help but be an upgrade of TT at rb.

I agree he would be a good pickup.. Tell him to bring Shawn Springs with him..

Update:
Rock re-signed with the Commanders. 3 years, $3.35 million total, including a $300,000 signing bonus and an additional $200,000 of guarantees. I'm pretty happy about it.

I'm happy you're happy. There are four good RBs in the draft who are good at returns. And we have Austin who is very good at it even though he can't avoid the kicker.

Anderson will do well and we can pick up a FB if necessary.

I'm much more interested in getting Felix Jones in here. He is the best pure running back in the draft. Yes a better runner than all of them. He sets his blocks up well, has outstanding cutbacks and broken field running, appears able to catch the ball, and can return kicks and probably punts as well. I don't know if he can block or pick up the blitz but that's generally the case of all rookie RBs. I think he will be there at 28. I wish we had him, MB, Anderson, and a RB like Jacobs. Kevin Smith would work well, too.

And he's much faster than his 40 time.

Hopefully he is stronger than his bench press too.

Best pure running back = Ray Rice.

No he isn't. His size and strength are at question. But he's a Reggie Bush type player.

I don't think so. I like Rice. He's got the size I like in a RB. He's fast enough although nowhere in the same league as Jones. He doesn't have the moves that Jones or Kevin Smith have. But I think he will be on a NFL roster in four years. He can return kicks but he doesn't have the vision, cutback ability, or broken field running ability of Jones. He doesn't even run as well as K Smith, Stewart, or the IL back. JMO.

Uh oh. Here comes theo!!!

Side note. I know bench may not have a lot to do with the RB position but 8 times @ 225lbs? That is freaking week. I havent been in the GYM in 4 yrs. Went in there for the 1st time in 4 yrs a week ago. I lifted 225lbs 5 times.
