He was just on The Ticket, but caught the last part of it. then he went right on The Fan.

Not a lot, but a few interesting tidbits.

He said you look to draft players that can effectively the pass. Then you can teach them how to effect the run if needed. And the players they drafted all can effect the pass. Now it is teaching them the other things and the plays.

So to me this means that Broaddus in his statement saying Taco can't pass rush but may get something in the run game? Broaddus, stick to reporting, not evaluating....

Asked about Jaylon Smith, and his progress, and if he is limited in anything and if he would be ready by the start of the season.

Everyday he seems to get better, he has always had a great attitude and grows everyday. Limited in all the new stuff, the speed is there, but the fundamentals as getting to know the plays and what to do...to me I took this as the mental aspects of reacting, knowing the plays is one thing, reacting is another...

As for being ready for the opener...

He said from what they have seen so far, he should be ready....

now that is from the DC fellow fans......

Linehan is to be on, but not sure if I can listen to it, or what time, I will try.
Listening to David Moore on the ticket right now.

Sounds like he's saying he is looking for players that are good in attributes of pass defense. So for D-Linemen, he drafted guys like Taco who can get to the QB. Then he can teach them to learn how to defend the run.

With LB's they are probably more looking at pass coverage skills since we don't blitz much.

He appears to be answering the question about Jaylon as-if he is OK physically, but needs to get up to speed as a player after being away from playing football for a long time.

Which is perfectly normal for someone who hasn't practiced in 16 months or so.

When posters are critiquing the drills and scrimmages, some of the issues they may notice they think has to do with his foot. But it also may be knocking off all the rust. It is just as likely getting used to the speed of the game than his injury.

This will be fun to watch each day and his progression. and how soon will he be out there everyday, as opposed to even other day. Even though he went 3 days, then had a day off, then the team has today off. So he will be out there Saturday. Then we will see if he is practicing Sunday. It could be 2 on, one off, or 3 on, then actually 2 off. If the schedule is 4 practices, then an off day.

that in itself it far more than anticipated.

I wonder how many see a limp, but really don't. They just think or want to see a limp.

I don't want to see a limp. I want nothing more than Jaylon to be 100 percent. But he has been limping. But that's to be expected because he's coming back from a devastating injury. The Cowboys probably understand this too, which is why they aren't making a big deal about it. Besides, they're going to remain positive. They're not going to say anything negative about Jaylon.

No Cowboy fan wants to see a limp. And Broaddus is altogether entitled to his opinions.

Some fans around here need to stop being so fragile. Attacking anyone who has a critical opinion...is a quick way to dumb down the intellect and turn this community into one big ball of boring.

Well, alrighty then, you have spoken...but what have you said..
And some fans need to stop being over critical on anything and everything.

And if directed at me, I am far from fragile and I have attacked no one.

considering the great majority of reports from the camp do not mention a limp and I have not seen any on any video shown I consider the so called limp to be mostly of those that expect to see one or WANT to see one.

Food for thought

Irving got hit w a suspension for PEDs. He admitted that his testerone levels where too high and he felt like he was in his second puberty

Now he's off the PEDs and his play is non existent. Nothing coming out of training camp yet but a missing nipple ring

I hope this is not the case, but let's keep an eye on it

I've seen a few reports of a limp. Nevertheless, it's not something to argue over. I'm hoping he continues to improve and get his legs under him - pardon the pun.

Dude's got a limp.

That's to be expected, though. Either from the remaining drop-foot or from the learned behavior of learning to walk with drop-foot.

There are times he's moving and it looks like there's nothing wrong at all. And then times--especially when he's slowing up, it seems, where the limp is more pronounced.

Rod's voice still sounds way to polite compared to how I think it should sound.
