Cowboys offense returned back to its dominating time of possession and solid running with Elliott over a 100 yards, Dak throwing 3 TD's and running for another in his best performance of the season . On offense this looked like the same team which posted 13 wins last year.
Dak and our offense did everything they could have done except possibly taking about 1 more minute in their final potential game winning drive. But that's where the best player on this field and one of the if not greatest QB's of this era works his magic.
" We knew we left too much time on the clock for Rodgers" Jerry said in post game interview. " Definitely time for a FG while we were hopeful we could keep them out of the endzone ."
Yes, our defense is still a concern and we can all hang the loss on them but on a day where we pressured Rodgers with Irvings return with 4 or 5 sacks and even on the critical 3rd down where he scrambled 18 yards to set up the winning TD throw Rodgers was simply too much.
Rodgers revels in these situations.Must be what it felt like years ago on opposing teams when Staubach often led comebacks in the final seconds almost at ease. We knew it was never over until it was over.
Rodgers doesn't need much time to work his magic. As painful as this loss was I'm a fan of the game first and I truly marvel in watching greatness in full display. I defintely put Rodgers up there in my 50+ years of watching the NFL as one of the greatest of all time and he appears to do it with such ease and grace.
