Unless someone is convicted of an offense, or heck, goes to court over the offense I could care less. Godell needs to step down, he's a dictator. All I want to do is watch football, I could care less what the players do on their off time as long as it's not criminal. And no Ben hasn't done anything criminal since he has not been convicted in a court of law.

Unfortunate for you, many other people who watch NFL football disagree.

FYI: the National Football League is not a dictatorship. Without the support of the team owners, Roger Goodell would have zero power and/or influence. How do you believe that he became league commissioner? Via a coup

Just saw on ESPN Sportcenter it's 6 games (essentially through Week 7) and can be reduced or extended according to the discretion of the Comissioner and what Ruthlessraper does from now until then.

He probably didn't campaign on running it more tightly than the Vatican in terms of behaviour.

It is clear he is running it from a certain philosophical bent when it comes to morality.

Tyke, do you honestly believe that anyone would stop watching NFL games or sponsors would bail if he didn't take a stand against 7?

Yes .... sponsors are already bailing off Ruthless.

against him, not the NFL or can you not understand the difference?

Can you not understand that it will eventually hurt the NFL to have one of its main stars act that way?

Oh wait ..... you are incapable of seeing right and wrong.

Any NFL player is a direct reflection of the league, therefore anything that hurts the image of a player (especially the starting QB of one of the most storied franchises) also hurts the image of the league. Trust me I'm a marketing major and company/organization image is everything.

"Campaign"? Were there townhall meetings too?

No matter how observers (e.g. pro, con or whatever) wish to describe Goodell's stance(s), one thing is abundantly clear--or at least it should be. Whether they agree or disagree with his actions, the owners back him. It's not the other way around.

Without that support, he would be 'dethroned' (as some would say) faster than Jerry Jones can wink after cussing. Hopefully, everyone can see the whole picture and not just that which bears his image.

That was a great reply and very intelligent. Good points!

Actually, it was the appropriate reaction to your completely idiotic post...

Actually, that's pretty much exactly how he got the job... the owners were sick of constantly reading about their players getting in trouble with the law, and they brought Roger in to crack down on that crap...

Yeah, losing sponsors is what the owners were worried about... whether or not they were right to be worried about that isn't really relevant...

How old was the girl he bought alcohol for?

I think she was right under the age where its ok to drag her half unconscious into the bathroom to molest her on the floor.

But I am not sure.

Hmm that is a shame if you are right, so close, if only it were horseshoes or hand grenades.

actually it is relevant if there was no chance of losing a sponsor.

it's like being worried all the time your spouse will step out on you even when there is no chance of it happening.
