Well . . . Mike and Mike did point out that if you look at the Steelers schedule . . . they don't have a prime time game until the 7th game of the season.

It's conditional so I guess if he does what they say to do it's only 4. I agree it should be the full 6.

Filed to ESPN: @mortreport and I are reporting that Ben Roethlisberger will be suspended four to six games, with conditions attached.

# mortreport

With @Adam_Schefter, one Steelers source estimated Roethlisberger could be suspended for as much as 8 games; 2 sources have denied this. 1 minute ago via TweetDeck

The suspension is expected to be conditional - could be 6 games reduced to 4 based on behavior & compliance with league doctors, etc.

These 2.

How soon til Mort is on NFLN?

You guys might've already mentioned this...but if he gets 5 or 6 games, does that mean he will be suspended for actual games or the weeks themselves (since the Steelers are off Week 4 I believe)?

The bye is week 5 and he will more than likely only get the 4 based on "good" behavior. I was wondering the same thing though.

So basically it's 6 games.

I mean . . . seriously . . . whats the odds Ben can go from now until October without raping someone?

I think there's a better chance that the Bills win the Super Bowl this year.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Report: Roethlisberger expected to get 4-6 game suspension
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on April 21, 2010 10:34 AM ET
Ben Roethlisberger is expected to be suspended 4-6 games for violating the NFL personal conduct policy, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter.

The conditional suspension will be a minimum of four games, but can reportedly be reduced based on Roethlisberger's behavior and compliance with clinical evaluators. Counseling may wind up being part of the deal, in addition to possible random alcohol testing.

The Steelers were reportedly bracing for an eight-game suspension, so this news may come as a small relief.

If Roethlisberger were to miss four games, he could return to the team after a Week Five bye. Pittsburgh's first four lucky opponents: Atlanta, Tennessee, Tampa Bay, and Baltimore.

Roethlisberger is expected to accept the punishment without appeal, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.

There have already been several of them mention that they have fielded calls and have not ruled out a trade. Not only have the Rooney's gone sour on the guy, but the fan base has gone sour too. I'm just saying, don't be shocked if it happens.

They have. It's been reported for weeks now the Steelers are listening to offers.

From the Pittsburgh Pots-Gazette:
Until recently it seemed unlikely that Roethlisberger would be dealt, but the tide has turned against him in Pittsburgh. It would no longer surprise us to see Big Ben in another uniform.

I spoke to Art Rooney II, the Steelers president and franchise caretaker since owner Dan Rooney is at work as Ambassador to Ireland, and wanted to get one thing straight: "My read of what you said in your news conference, and to the New York Times, is that you're moving forward with Ben as a Steeler.''

"That's a fair reading, yup,'' Rooney said.

"That's a fair reading, yup,'' Rooney said.
So unless Roethlisberger screws up again -- unlikely because of how scared he is right now, I'm told -- he'll be the quarterback of the Steelers this year. That is after he's suspended by commissioner Roger Goodell for some period, which I now think has to be at least four games at the start of the season, for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

Good grief. They aren't trading him, unless they somehow get a great QB back.

This "outrage" in Pittsburgh will go away the second Leftwich or Batch or whoever makes a boneheaded decision and costs them a game.

I'm so sick of this supposed moral superiority of the Steelers. Guess a lot of people are buying into the sham, though.

...humorous if the suspension was (4) games with conditions and he was able to reduce it to (2) games with good behavior.

How much of a firestorm would ensue?

Amen CL...Where was that moral superiority when HARRISON beat up his wife? Yea,they cut a few of the criminals they had on the team, but only the ones they could win without. You will never see them cut a player they need for criminal acts, unless the act is murder but even then i wouldnt count on it...moral superiority my ***...:star:
