I would be looking at 15-20 without parole.

What is wrong with our Civil justice system?

Now our NFL legal system is broken.

When they first announced the suspension I knew it would eventually be reduced to 4 games. Everybody did. I always viewed it as a 4 game suspension with the possibility of going up to 6 games if he did anything wrong. We all knew he was going to be on his best behavior for at least this year.

No. This is clearly evidence that the Commish hates the Cowboys. Get on board.

You had to see this coming a mile away. Goodell reduces the suspension and then sells it to the t-shirt casual football fans as his "crackdown" on off the field behavior is working. Rapist didn't rape anyone for a few months while facing the suspension and did his piss ant required stipulations as mandated by the NFL. Therefore suspension was a success. The program works!!!!

The take home message in this folk is that if you're going to rape someone while on an NFL team, do it at the very end of a season or at the outset of the offseason, buy off the victim, avoid court, and jump through the NFL hoops. By the end of the summer, you penitent period will be exhausted and the system will reduce your suspension to reward itself.

will you guys get a grip. Goodell from day 1 said if he did everything he was told over the next 6 months he would reduce it to 4.

No matter how it sucks there were no charges filed. So Goodell really could not do much more than he did.

I called. He answered and said his admin left for the holiday weekend. I told him that Cowboys fans were upset with the reduction. He said he would reconsider and asked if he could call me back. I gave him Bob's number.

Then he was equally spineless on day 1.

So Wade Wilson gets nailed for more games and a 1/4 of his salary because he tried to use a drug to combat the diabetes that is causing problems with his sexual relations with his wife...

Raperberger gets 4 his abusive behavior...those who do not see this as a great wrong need help. imho

Six games wasn't set to begin with, and the commissioner from the beginning that the sentence was at his discretion.

Besides, it wasn't a firm charge nor did it result in a criminal charge, criminal case. I don't see anything wrong with the decision. A 4-game suspension is still a serious punishment, and, with news Leftwich is out sans an injury, could put the Steelers in a serious hole in a division featuring the Ravens and the Bengals.

Spineless? You call giving Ben Roethlisberger (one of the faces of the league) a four-game suspension for an incident that didn't result in criminal charges spineless?

i said something about this along the same lines;

that goodell went after dallas cowboy players with a vendetta, and i was told i was wong, like cowboy players like wade wilson, pacman, tank johnson, to name a few

i was told i didnt know what i was talking about and its not a conspiracy

now what do you say to those that told me wrong, and goodell gives a lesser sentence to a person that has committed rape, etc....

He went after the Cowboys players with a vendatta?

You mean players who were on the hot seat before the Cowboys signed them?

Pulease.

And can you show me some hard evidence that Roethlisberger committed rape? Not accusations but hard evidence, especially since no charges were filed?

It should have been six games firm. How sick are we that we reward people for not raping anyone in the last few months?

Pretty sick. Let's not fool ourselves.

Beyond all the PR that the dish us... The NFL is a pretty sleazy league run by mega sleazes.

If they could get away with it from a PR standpoint...they'd not let Rothlesraper miss a $ingle game....and don't think the league wasn't doing everything possible to make sure that poor woman didn't press charges.

It's ridiculous that the suspension was reduced by two games.

He doesn't deserve to even step out onto that field this season.

I think Goodell did well to manage this -- yes, Ben has been under fire twice now for sexual assault. But the fact is he never faced charges. Should he have? I think absolutely. But what the commish has done is say "I don't give a crap what law enforcement says - you were in this position TWICE now - your *** is sitting"

That's far stronger than the previous commish who allowed players tons of arrests before intervening.

What's funny is the Sports Illustrated I was just given (I hate that magazine) has the Steelers vs. Packers in the Super Bowl.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH! Please! Steelers won't even win their division.

Wade got punished sans a trial, Ben got punished without a trial.

So what is your point?
