According to the NFL's 2013 tax forms, commissioner Roger Goodell pulled in $35 million in 2013.

His salary lines up with his 2012 salary of $4.2 million that included $9 million in deferred compensation SportsBusiness Daily reported.

"The Commissioner's total compensation in 2013 is a fair reflection of his leadership and contributions during the year," Falcons owner Arthur Blank, chair of the Compensation Committee, said in a statement. "Compensation packages for Roger and other senior executives are reviewed annually; accordingly, the compensation committee will conduct a thoughtful review and make a determination of 2014 compensation in March."

Goodell's pay is largely bonus-based with $31 million of his 2013 salary coming as a bonus from the owners.

Sometimes I wonder if Goddell is tied to organized crime and gambling. To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if he was.

Only way he is worth remotely close to that is if he is personally responsible for the TV contracts, because that is where the majority of the revenue comes from.

Several questionable calls amongst other things.

Can you be more specific? I look at the Ray Rice mess and I don't see how any decision on it would have benefited organized crime or gamblers. He wasn't that good any more.

Those "people" were really Pats fans.
Don't be silly. Pats fans don't have an irrational hatred of the Cowboys.

No, this was a gambling forum where I had those arguments. Awful lot of conspiracy theorists over there, looking for excuses to justify why they are such losers.

Apparently he is worth very cent.... Says all/most of the owners?
I would guess his compensation (bonus) is tied into league revenues, and the NFL, despite all controversies, has been making money hand over fist. He has done a good job expanding the product, new TV deals, new CBA, etc.

It's things like league investigations and punishments for various offenses where he has dropped the ball.

Yes on the former.

The latter is all bs. He is not the principal of a school.
