Roger Goodell on the draft speed

Stop with all the ex players making picks. Stop with all the fluff to try and make themselves look good. It's just a P.R stunt. Stop pandering. It was fine for one year. Didn't have to be a regular thing every draft.

Or continue on ruining the product and keep dragging it out. It's not the time between picks that annoys people. It's all the un-necessary non-football crap we will have to sit through the next 2 days that is monotonous. It's old. It's tired. Nobody care. Everyone is just trying to be polite and clap nicely. But it's a waste of time.

Dart is ***.
Time will tell, but I think he’s going to be a good quarterback for the Giants for a long time he’s definitely better than the other guy. If we didn’t get the young kid from New England, he’s a guy I wanted to draft.

The Titans milked the entire clock even though they’ve known for weeks who they were going to select.

Its sad

AGREED. I am glad there are other places to watch that give us the picks as they come in. I knew two picks in advance last night before the networks even got around to announcing someone that was chosen 25 minutes ago.

I just got so tired of the commercials and all the special pick announcements I watch online coverage instead. Quick and gets to the point. I don't need to spend 15 minutes watching special guests announcing a pick with a long winded speech.

Just tell me who the heck went where and lets move on already!!

There are other places online to watch the draft. Gets you the picks as they happen without all the extra hoopla. ESPN and NFL Network took a backseat for me last night. I knew the Cowboys drafted Tyler Booker while NFL Network was still talking about the Bears taking Loveland two picks earlier at number 10.

I don't know. If I was a casual fan and turned it on and had to endure all the extras, I would probably just turn it off.

I'm shocked he would actually say this as I'm sure the NFL loves the ad space they can sell during a longer program, but it really needs to be addressed. As someone on eastern time I didn't watch too much past the Cowboys pick. Hate doing that because I love the draft, but its just not worth staying up until close to midnight for on a Thursday night.

Exactly. With all due respect to those involved, It's all nonsense.

Me too I don’t watch the draft. I only turn it in on when it’s close to our time. Like tonight, I’ll be watching the Celtics because I live in New England, I don’t watch it during the season, but I will watch the playoffs.

I agree with everyone here. No disrespect intended to all the players, fans, and even servicemen and women that get to announce the picks. It's an amazing and fun moment for them and a way to honor them.

But the vast majority of people that watch the draft are just football fans that want to hear the picks. Not interested in all the other stuff, of which there is a time and a place for.

To me, the draft is a lot like the Super Bowl. It is made into a presentation instead of a sporting event. Which is kind of backwards since it's being watched only by sports fans.
