Roger Goodell on the draft speed

I prefer they go back to the 2 day Saturday and Sunday draft.
This set up now sucks.

If they shorten to 7 minutes. Rounds 2 and 3 are at 5 minutes. Do that one day, all the rest the next day.

Ratings over quality.

Same. But that was a good format for football nerds like us.

The new format is perfect for casuals who won’t watch past the first round.

I have another idea. How about they just do it all in one day like it was for decades? It is way more fun when teams can't go home, digest the first round , and have time to make a new plan. At least get the first 3 rounds in all at once and make teams think and make decisions under some pressure.

Teams have lost their draft pick, because they didn’t get the card in on time while taking phone calls. The first round is fine timewise.

What a big bag of crap.

The NFL comissioner needs a draft to think about the length of picking time? Not that he has a job where he could have thought about this topic form monday to fridays the whole year.

What a joke is that. Does he think we all are stupid?

They just made the draft even longer by having it start at thursday and let it run for three days. Nobody needs this expect the NFL. And that for making more money because now they have more time to slot in stupid commercials nobody wants to watch.

Right.
I think the last time that happened was mid 90’s with the Vikings. They missed their time, another team jumped in and took a player. Then Vikings sent their card in only within a minute after. The team that jumped ahead of them, did not pick who the Vikings wanted. So really no harm done.

What irks me about the draft nowadays is how far behind the telecasts are. The picks are being leaked 5-10 minutes prior to them being announced for the TV viewers. I always enjoyed hearing the picks at the same time as everyone else but those days are long gone.

EDIT...Most people tune in to learn who picked who and maybe a little 'insider info' on each selection. That's it. Stop with all the gimmicks and garbage they try to force down our throats. So annoying.
