Not shocking at all imo. I was one of those "how the **** does this guy have a job" people for a long time until it hit me years ago that he's just a puppet. Owned by the owners.

Sadly I dont think we will ever again see a neutral commissioner. Football is no longer a sport and more of an entertainment business that brings in ridiculous amount of cash. Cash money rules.

More games = more income
Games in odd places = more income

I'm all about player safety but its almost to the point its a disgrace to the sport. Can barely touch the QB at this point or play hard hitting defense. Now I get it the players make and bring in so much money that the league does not want the star players hurt.

Softer rules = lots of broken records. Offense sells tickets

Half time show is well a disgrace and we all know why..

Now I hate to be one of those "conspiracy theorists" but my god it's almost down right blatant that some games are just rigged. Phantom calls, easily overturned plays and reviews not being called correctly...etc

Yeah, go rewatch the 2017 AFC champ game, Pats vs Jags. The Jags D had 5 penalties called on them the entire season, and suddenly committed 7? There was no way they wanted a Jags vs Eagles super bowl.

Also, what are you referring to in the toughest times part? There have been no tough times for the NFL in a long time, well before goddell was hired. Perhaps you’re referring to the kneeling or maybe covid?

Hell I always said the hip drop tackle imo was way more dangerous then then the horse caller tackle. So many blown out knees and broken bones.

I've read estimates of between $60–70+ million per year now.

So this new deal could potentially push his career earnings toward or beyond $1 billion by the time he leaves the job in 2031. Unless he gets yet another extension.
