If I had a nickel for every Anthony Smith I’ve heard of, I’d have like a dollar forty five or so,

Yep, I guess Brown was reasonably useful. Certainly had a respectable career. Tons of other similar guys over the years did not.

That is true. He did blip the radar for sure. Others go stealth mode on it.

Flo is on the cusp...I hope he can keep going.

I think Flournoy is a much more polished receiver than Brown ever was. Garrett liked Brown for run blocking and ST.

I predict Flournoy gets a decent bag from someone like Jacksonville next offseason.

If he is prone to dropping the ball I see it as a concentration thing unless he has baby hands. But otherwise he seems to have measurements people like, speed people like etc.

There's a difference between having bad hands and having the dropsies. Bad hands is a physical trait.

Aside from being fast, I really don't see any other traits that point toward success. He's not a good route runner, that usually points toward lack of burst and lateral agility. Maybe the PS.

He's making $4.6 million this season, and if we cut him it would cost $2.4 million in dead cap space. Even if we wanted to cut him I'm not sure it would be worth the hit even though it is relatively small. We'd have to have a better kick return option costing us less.

But even if we take away what he offers on returns, we clearly value him on offense to be involved in a few plays per game. We can't say that about all of our depth.

For a 7th, Brown was a home run

I'm not sure I'd go home run, but he was a solid double. I consider someone like Ratliff a home run (at least for a few years) or Donald Driver or Julian Edelman or Marques Colston.

However, since most seventh-round picks are strikeouts, Brown was definitely a good pick. I guess if you consider him a home run, those other guys have to be grand slams. I would probably only consider the Hall-of-Famers - Bob Hayes, Rayfield Wright, Shannon Sharpe, Harold Carmichael, Bobby Mitchell, Larry Wilson, Gene Hickerson and Joe Schmidt - to be grand slams.

Two things about Smith . I’m surprised he wasn’t grabbed earlier in the draft with his combo of height speed & hands .

Secondly he’s got to hit the Frisco weight training room hard . He’s going to get knocked around in his present frame by NFL secondaries .

Holden last years UDFA hung around all year on the PS and this season I hope Dallas can keep Smith stashed all year as he learns the NFL .

I would think Holden and Denzel Mims are ahead of Smith at this point of possibly cracking the 47 code

Why would we let him go? Is it because Caleb can play his spot as well as S and most other positions on the roster?

No way in the world you get a # 1 from the Jets even say at slot 15 since they should be better this year then normally a top 5 pick , for Turpin Aubrey .

If you could then JJ should make it in a heartbeat , that would give you two # 1’s in 27 . I’ll find a kicker for 26 and Turpin can be replaced now with players already here .

Get yourself a top notch OT Carter Smith and any # of positions on defense with two first rounders next April .
