Just wondering if there are any names of undersized but fast/proven speed/quickness guys in draft that might be available for 'Boys.

I think we need a speed option in case Felix Jones and/or Austin get knicked up again (both did last year, and Austin has had multiple short term injuries already over career). Roy Williams in fast in a longer run, but we need guys that can get open quickly and make things happen in the short stuff as well.

Also, I could see a guy like that return punts (Crayton is reliable and solid, but not really a threat, and fair catches A LOT).

With the number of mid and later round picks, does anybody stand out. Somebody that could get 6-9 touches a game and fill in for a game or two to provide that quickness/speed option if someone goes down. I still see this as the glaring weakness on offense. It just too WAY TOO long for guys to get open for Romo last year. Part playcalling, but part of the talent/skill set of our offensive players that were on field. Witten, TO, Crayton, Roy Williams, Austin, none of these guys is quick or a super sharp route runner.

We can use one of those guys, and I think it would really help out.

I'm not a draft guru though. Anyone like that out there that might be available to us?

WR Louis Murphy of Florida is a guy we might want to consider, he's not small, but he's quick and fast, could line up in the slot or outside

I don't have a problem with Crayton fair catching punts. If that is the worst thing he does returning punts then that is a good thing. I am all for finding a better punt returner, but Crayton is not bad. Calling for a fair catch is part of the job and most good return men know when and where to make the call.

Pacman was a bad punt returner even though he was a quick, athletic guy. There is no excuse to have 0 fair catches. That shows poor judgment and it often leads to poor results. Pacman put Dallas in bad position over and over returning punts.

I would rather have Crayton over Pacman and I only bring that up as an example. If there was a way to combine Crayton's judgment and Pacmans quickness and athletic ability in someone returning punts then I would say sign that guy.

Didn't really mean to pound on Crayton. He is reliable and he moves FORWARD and gets a few yards when he runs with it. A number of times over past few years he fair catches when he has space though. IMHO.

I like Crayton, I just think our special teams could use a boost in productivity on the punt return side. I agree with everything you said about PacMan, but that's kind of moot because he's gone.

Many teams have these smaller, 4th or 5th wr's/cb's or backup RB'swho are shifty, agile, and very quick. Guys that fill a role on special teams and as a 2 or 3 play guy in regular offense. We lack that player. Dante Hall of a few years ago. Sproles (who is much more now) of San Diego. Guys that are role play weapons, and back ups. Usually they aren't big enough or durable enough to be every down players OR they are developmental guys (like Scandrick is suppossed to be) that can play a role here or there productively out of their athletism and have some upside due to amazing athletic ability and usually speed/quickness. Dallas is a bit slow up front. Take away Julius and nobody is very quick over the first 5-20 yards. Over 40-60 maybe, but not those short to medium routes. This hurt Romo and the passing game since other teams figured this out once Jones was hurt.

I wouldn't mind Derrick Williams from Penn St at the top of the 3rd

He could contribute immediately in the return game, and he's an explosive WR that also has some versatility (played QB and RB as well as WR in college)
