Hi fellow zoners,
Long time troll. This is might be my first post hah. Anyone going to the game in SF this weekend? I'm from Orange County, and flying up with a buddy (niners fan) but we are looking to see if any other zoners might be tailgating before the game? Possible meet up? Or any advice for those who might have been to candlestick? :star:

I recently moved to SF area and going also. Need some advice on the stick also. i.e. is it safe to don my cowboys gear, etc. in light of the recent beatings in Cali. I only live 15 miles away but I hear it is a pita to get into the stadium on gamedays.

Heading up Saturday morning still trying to find a cheap hotel already have tickets in hand. Not sure where to stay and what cities are safe.

Anywhere by SFO is safe, I recommend the crown plaza on the 101 and 92 (san matteo bridge). It is about 13 miles south of the stadium. They also have a nice sports bar there, along with a seperate room for cowboys fans only.

BTW, there is 2 crown plazas, both are nice but I like the one south of SFO better. I think its foster city.

It is safe to where your cowboys gear there. It is very difficult to get into the stadium on day game. There is a park across the stadium. Depend on where you are sitting, you might want to bring a sweat shirt. Could be a little windy there.

I live in San Jose, but I'd rather fly to Arlington to watch a game than sit in that crap box for three hours.

Either way, have fun though and punch a Niner fan in the face for me.

Sweat shirt? Im from Houston, I will be wearing a parka, heh. Its cold on the coast all year long :(

The Stick is old, cold, and safe for Cowboys fans. Bring a pullover, and one thicker than you think you're going to want to bring.

The stadiums 15 or so minutes outside the City, and not near any of the good nightlife or good food. You can take muni to the game. I've never done it, but I hear it's a good option because getting out of the Stick afterwards is a drag.

If you don't have a hotel yet, you're better off finding something cool in the City than staying by the airport. That's if you want the tourist experience. Because SF is one of the coolest cities in the world, that's what I'd recommend. If you're here just for the game, the airport hotels are fine.

For eating and bars, I'd recommend yelp.com, heavily. Stick to things that have mostly 5 stars, and you can't go wrong. There's almost literally anything you want to do available to do in the SF area, so have fun.

I'd recommend the two bars my sister owns in the city... http://eveloungesf.com/ and http://www.johncolins.com/

That's cool, realtick. I haven't been in either, but it looks like yelpers have a lot of nice things to say. Do we just tell them we know the boss's brother and would like our free drink? Or is there a secret handshake?

Don't bother saying "realtick sent me" because she won't have a clue of what you're talking about, lol.
