Rolling Stones Top 500 Albums of All Time

I thought that a little strange as well. And way too much hip hop / rap from my point of view. Also grunge. There are vast swaths of musical genres not even considered in any of this entire list, which is unfortunate, not to mention many very influential & talented artists who had monster albums, even if it wasn't in the USA. This whole list was totally, and I mean TOTALLY geared to "today's" Rolling Stone magazine male / age range target demographic.

In essence, I found it to be very shallow, way too opinionated and not opened to the musical world except the little 1/8 pie slice that they focused on.
 There's 31 and the highest one is at #48 give me a break, that's less than 10% of the list and most of them deserve to be there.

That's just an old person anti-rap rant.

It is likely similar to old people's reactions to the 1970's top 500. "Way too much of that damn protest singing for my taste! Blonde on Blonde? What crap. Where are my favorite swing albums?"

Beatles are the most over-rated band in history... The only band more over-rated, Nirvana and they are at 17. Man, they single-handedly destroyed music and brought us the era of depression and horrid whining. Contrary to wha people claim, their lyrics suck and their music wasn't hard to play. They are ahead of anything Zeppelin has done. Unbelievable.. Joshua Tree at 27? Please...

Oh hell no... Nirvana ahead of the greatest pop singer and bar none one of the most influential musicians ever, Michael Jackson.. Thriller at 20?
