You won't see any safeties brought in this year imo.

We're gonna go with the guys we have.

Roman "The Neck" Harper.

Just turned 31 in December and was never great in coverage. He was decent at stopping the run, and pretty good one the blitz on year, but he's not exactly someone I think Wilcox could really learn much from.

I will say that as far as being a good guy, he is definitely one of them. He helps out witha local football camp every year in my home town and is very energetic with the kids. As far as helping our safety situation, he could provide the younger guys with a veteran presence and compete in camp for a spot

I live in Saints territory. His own fanbase has had a low opinion of Harper practically his whole career.

Roman Harper? Lol. We need someone that can cover. Harper can't. Vaccaro outplayed him by a long shot. Would not be an upgrade, just another guy that would get picked on by opposing qb's. Not interested.

Not saying it's right but I agree with this. Too much invested in Johnson and Wilcox.

I think I agree with you too.

I'd love to have a legit safety but with the money spent at corner and with all of the other holes we have I'm fine with trying the guys we got again.

Mickey Loomis just lopped off $19 million in cap space. He is a cap genius and now the Saints can do whatever they want in free agency.

In case I am just missing the sarcasm:

These moves should put the Saints under the salary cap for now. They were projected to be around $13-15 million over the cap, but they'll need even more space to re-sign or use the franchise tag on free-agent tight end Jimmy Graham and clear space for other free-agent signings.
