Okay, so - here's the thing.
He did it. Again. Once again when the game was on the line, when we had played below our potential as a team, he did it. He looked adversity in the face and accomplished. Tony Romo continues the story of the most exciting new qurterback in the league, and what's more - he seems to improve with every game.
What compells me most about someone like Tony, is how well he performs under pressure. The focus, the performance, the immediate change in result as soon as it became "game time", it almost seems as though our new young quarterback is better when his back is against the wall.
It's obvious someone who can throw 35 touchdowns is a gamer. It's clear that with a quarterback raiting of almost 108, he can do more with the ball than the average player. In the past there have been other successful young quarterbacks with impressive stats and inspiring gameplay, but there's something else with Romo.
He has that intangible spirit to his play. That "IT" that's impossible to duplicate. He doesn't just thrive in those all-so-desperate situations, he enjoys himself. Truly enjoys himself. The smiles and laughter come as often as the scrambles and touchdowns. There's America in that laughter. There's this countrys essence in those drives. Like the country his team represents, he was not given much credit at the outset. Like America Tony is faced with many different adverse situations and struggles. So with the rest of the 2007 football year ahead of us, I smile and laugh a little more. I have a positive spirit looking ahead. I know it's because the future looks bright, and no matter what the struggle, the belief we can win looms as large as the Lone Star itself.
Go Dallas Cowboys.
God Bless America.
