With the two to Miles Austin, Tony Romo has now thrown 11 touchdown passes of at least 50 yards in the fourth quarter or overtime of games, which ties him for third all-time (or at least since 1940).

The only quarterbacks with more TD passes of at least 50 yards in the fourth quarter or overtime are Jim Hart, who had 14 from 1967 to 1978, and Johnny Unitas, who had 13 from 1956 to 1972.

Romo is tied with Charley Johnson, who had 11 from 1962 to 1973.

Romo has 1,472 career attempts. Johnson had 3,392, and Hart and Unitas both had more than 5,000.

Strangely, Romo has only seven TD passes of at least 50 yards in the first three quarters of games. Johnson had 19, Hart had 25, and Unitas had 38.

Since 2006, Romo's 18 TD passes of 50 yards or more are easily the most in the NFL. Peyton Manning and Donovan McNabb are tied for second with 10.

Also, Romo already has three interception-free games this season, which is how many he had in each of his previous three seasons.

Weird and wild factoids my friend. Thank you for the stats. It's cool to know that Tony has the tools to be great, and some stats that back up this belief.

I'm one of the few in here that still believes Tony is going to help lead the Cowboys to the promise land one these days.

Count me as one of them. An old college friend was giving me crap on Facebook last week about Tony "oh-no". I told him straight up, Tony Romo retires with at least 1 Super Bowl win to his name and I've got $5K that says so. A great crawfishing was witnessed and the wager went unaccepted.

I'm glad to see a post about Romo cast in a postive light. Passed for over 350 with 2 TD's and no INTs. He struggled at times but for the most part he played a very solid game. And when we needed him to come through when it counted, he did just that.

My only question is... Where are all the Romo haters at?

I don't hear any squawking up in this mug?

I mean, if you're gonna devote so much time to slamming him when he has an off game, how about taking a minute to give some praise when praise is due.

With that said, it'll be nice to have the team healthy again for Week 7. We're gonna need it cause that Falcon team is much better than the Chiefs are.

And the line coaches better start kicking some tail cause the penalties are absolutely ridiculous. For such a talented bunch they're severely lacking discipline.

You're not one of the few. There are a *ton* of Cowboy fans who believe in Romo. It's just hard to hear them over the din made by the idiot contingent.

Romo is just the second quarterback (since at least 1940, and possibly ever) to have two go-ahead TD passes of at least 50 yards in the fourth quarter or overtime of a single game. The only previous quarterback to do it was Y.A. Tittle in 1949 (one 79 yards, then 52 yards).

Also, Miles Austin appears to be the first player (since at least 1940, and possibly ever) to catch two go-ahead touchdown passes of at least 50 yards in the fourth quarter or overtime of a game. There have been 19 guys who have had two go-ahead TD catches of at least 50 yards in the same game, but Austin is the first to have them both in the fourth quarter or overtime.

There are a lot of us that believe in Romo, but sometimes the "squeeky wheels" around here are so loud you can't hear anything else.

Yeah wasn't there a poll on here after the Giants game on who was still on the Romo bandwagon still? The majority of the board was (I wanna say it was a 3:1 ratio).

I love Romo. I love the way he plays the game, and I really think that he "gets it" when I listen to him talk about the game. I know it hasn't completely manifested itself in some key situations, but I've got a lot of faith that we still have quite a bit of greatness that we haven't yet seen from Romo.

One of the more meaningless posts I've ever been unfortunate enough to read. No discussion on the information provided, just a jab and run.

Thanks for the stats, Adam. It's interesting to see what Romo has accomplished when all the doubters/haters can not give any credit at all.

What are you saying? We should expect INTs in every game for the rest of the season? :laugh2:

That's just wrong. :laugh2:

BTW, I didn't do much reading on here after the loss to Denver because I knew how ugly it would be. Did anyone ever address Romo's passes being high possibly because of the altitude? It seems to me that if it can affect kicks, it can affect passes if the quarterback doesn't adjust to it. ... And with the pressure being put on Romo, it would have been hard to focus on adjusting.

Not excusing his play, we needed better from him, or for the officials to actually be willing to call pass interference at least once in the end zone on the great Champ Bailey. Just wondering.
