I knew that the Jimmy curse (regardless of Qb) was indisputable when we had Clevelands 1st rd pick in 2008.

The Browns were averaging 4 to 5 wins a season. In the 2007 season they went 10-6 and we wound up with their pick which was the 22nd (Felix Jones)......they had been averaging top 6 draft spot in the years before that.

In the following season ( when we didn't have their pick) they promptly went back to a 4-12 record.....wth?

Yep. Our biggest issue over the 30 year drought has been players not making plays. There are many reasons they haven't, but the dropped passes, penalties, missed or avoided tackles, clock management, etc have plagued us for decades. One thing about the 70s and 90s teams, they made plays.

Aikman, Staubach, & Morton all lead Dallas to the SB.

Meredith and White got us to multiple championship games.

That's your top 5.

Results matter far more than stats do especially since the rules have changed so much over the decades.

Dak still has a chance to crack the top 5, but it's too late for Romo.

Those three had some of the better Cowboys teams of all time. Aikman had one of the top 5 teams in NFL history. Romo and Dak had good teams not all time greats.

Maybe I used the term incorrectly. I thought it meant experiencing bad luck. I meant that Romo would have random moments of bad luck (botched extra point, the oddity of the Dez catch, untimely interception due to receiver, etc.)

When you look at it, the late 60's teams and the early 80's were the same: they could not make the critical play when it mattered. The early 80;s teams went to three straight NFC championship games and never could close the deal

Since then we have not even been able to get close to a Championship game.
