Was listening to The Ticket here in Dallas earlier tonight and the Hardline was discussing Tony Romo. One of them brought up a very good point:

Even if Tony Romo never improves from where he is right now, but 90% of the starts in his career are just equal to the ones he has already had, he will be a Hall of Famer. No questions asked.

Yes, that's way over the top, but just think about that for a second. Is that not absolutely right?

If Dallas wins he will be smiled upon, if he is the cause of a great number of losses then his Heaven will turn to Hell.

if he keeps winning 4 out of every 5 games, he will go to the hall-of-fame

If he plays at the same rate he is now, some of the picks he has gotten away with will come back to haunt him. He is playing well, no doubt. On the other hand, we would not be touting him as highly if some of the picks he has thrown hadn't been dropped or otherwise nullified.

A case in point is the pick he threw in the Colts game that was called back due to a penalty against the Colts' defense. Things are seldom as good as you think they are or, as bad. Stats lie. I just hope he continues to win. I am rooting for him.

And that's absolutely true. Which is why it's never as simple as something like this. It just sort of blew my mind when I heard it and actually considered it. Sill really cool to think about.

I have enjoyed this while it is happening, but can we truely expect this to continue? I sure as hell hope so.

I have to see this go on for the rest of the season, I expect a bad couple of games somewhere down the line this season, but I think our defense can bail him out of those.

Romo is playing out of his freaking mind right now. I love the high level of QBing, but I won't be convinced until I see it consistantly over a long period.

Too many ups and downs since Troy. Color me skeptical, but I won't fall into a trap after 5 games.

Keep up the good work Tony.

Logic like this is futile. If youre going to adjust your perspective by adding your speulation as to what couls have gone bad then on the same token you have to consider what might have worked out well.

Owens dropped two passes that would have been easy TDs for example. Balls that are tipped up by the receiver and getting picked off could be ignored as well.

I works both ways and if you dont calculate it as such then youre wasting time.

That statement is correct if those 10% don't come in the post season, at least consistantly.

He needs a ring. He wont be around long enough to really shatter the record books like Manning, who will be a HOFer with or without a ring.

Yeah I agree Romo has gotten away with some throws but every starting QB in the NFL has so what's the point? Romo is no different than Hasselbeck or Brady, INT's are a part of the game!

If 2 trains leave Chicago going west at 60 miles an hour on Tuesday @ 10:30pm...

Wouldn't Glenn have caught/broke up that INT if he hadn't of been, uh, held?

I have the same thoughts on Romo as some, as in not ready to put him in the HOF yet, but..
