The past game or two is the first time I've seen Romo run a QB Sneak I'm the past couple of years. Anyone notice the new wrinkle?

From what I read (or saw? on NFL.com?), it may not have been planned. Apparently Romo saw that the Bucs defense wasn't lined up or readily prepared yet, and quickly got the ball snapped and took it in for the score himself.

Correct. Romo was supposedly to clock the ball but instead called his own number. As expected, Romo is a better OC than Garrett.

Wow, really? He's probably told by Garrett to do that if he gets the right look.

Love it, I've been dying to see them try that play in rush situations, I wish they had tried one in Arizona instead of clocking the ball, I bet Romo could have gotten 2-4 yards

Just a smart play by Romo. He saw the defense was not ready and got the OL ready and went.

It was a great play considering how much trouble we have punching it in from the 1. I wonder if we do it again somewhere down the line when we need a critical yard.

I know Brady has done this for years but I haven't seen Romo do it before the last couple of games.

I remember one PS game in his first or second year he did that very same play.

We don't have the oline to do it consistently.

That sort of a play is a bang-bang play that is always at the QB's discretion.

that what i thought, its jsut reading the defense and deciding to take the chance and Romos been good with it.

If you go back and look I'm pretty sure we haven't used this play much in the past few years.

He did it against Oakland in the preseason as a rookie and won the game :D

It's risky because of increased chances of concussions and quarterbacks are not usually as good at holding on to the ball while being hit as a running back would be.

However, Rodgers and Brady excel at sneaks because they do it when they see a gap in the defense in front of or to the gap of the center. I bet Romo saw something similar and that is why he called his own number.

Unless he fumbles trying to run for a score. Then people call for his head. ;)

to some people they are hoping for the return of Drew Bledsoe and some of us see Romo for the greatness he is and appreciate his time here.

The gravity of the repercussions of that one single play against Oakland cannot be measured by Cowboys fans.

No sneak, No Romo. Where would we be today?

I don't think I'll ever forget that, I knew there was something special about him when I saw that live.
