Out of that group, I think your choice is the odd one of the bunch. :laugh2:

Yep, pretty much. None in that bunch are any good.

ridiculous

Yea real ridiculous. He just lost to the Eagles and it was one of their worst losses in franchise history. All he has to say is "if this is the worst thing to ever happen to me, then I'm doing good". Who the hell says stuff like that after a loss like that? That's a slap in the face to the fans who live and die for the team.

I really do not think football is a big deal to him. Yea it means something of course but at the end of the day, he is content with losing.

Or maybe just maybe he was dejected and trying not to sound like it.

Someone who plays through the kinda injuries he had and kept going out there to take a beating even when the game was over is not someone who does not care.

The idea is ridiculous.

If you live and die for a football team you need help.

We need him to play well to win.

Desite the "blame Garrett" crowd, we arnt going to de-emphasize Romo and win big this yr, or in the playoffs without him. Our defense is not good enough.

He's gotta stop with the Quincy performances though.

i admit, i was a huge romo fan early. i think he has taken a huge step backwards, instead of progressing. i also admit, i keep going back to the philly post-game interview. that changed my mind drastically.

For the love of everything holy...

I've been quiet about this since the Philly debacle, but now I'm going to say what I feel about the whole "post game comment" thing:

Before the beginning of the 2007 season Romo was a guest on Jim Rome's show. Rome was saying how good he thought Romo was and how starved Cowboy Nation was for another super bowl. He talked about how Romo could "rule the world" if he brought a super bowl to the most popular sports franchise in the United States. A big topic at that time was Tony's bobbled snap in Seattle, and if Romo would be able to overcome it and continue to be a good QB.

It was a good interview and overall the entire thing was very positive. During his talk with Tony, Rome asked him about the bobbled snap and how Tony was trying to deal with the fallout from that loss.

Tony responded with almost the exact same thing he said after the Philly loss. He said that he was blessed to be able to play for such a great franchise and to be able to play a game for a living. He talked about how lucky he was to be doing something he loved for a living while so many had to trudge off to 9-5 jobs doing something they didn't want to do. That it was hard to do what everyday Joe's had to do and what athletes do (playing a game) is easy.He said that if the worst thing that happened to him in his life was the bobbled snap in Seattle, then he considered himself a very lucky man.

After the interview was over, Jim Rome went on and on about what a awesome answer Tony gave to that. How level headed he was and that if more athletes had attitudes like him, the sports world would be better off. Rome started taking test-messages and e-mails and every single one of them was someone saying how great Romo's interview was and what a terrific attitude he seemed to have. The entire show turned into people calling in, texting in, and e-mailing in how great Romo seemed and how correctly screwed on his head seemed to be. It was a wonderful outpouring of praise for Romo's comments. Rome ended it by saying how lucky Dallas was to have him as it's QB.

(Surely someone out there remembers that interview)

Fast forward then to the end of the Philly game in 2008. Romo had been physically abused the entire game. His throwing hand hadn't been right since he broke his finger. His back hadn't been right since the December Giants game (a win in December? Gasp!). The team was fractured because of all the distractions that were constantly in the media. The defense had let him down in the Baltimore game and he was probably walking around in a haze from the beating he had just taken against Philly... a game that ended a once promising season.

Then, he had to get up and face a media that was frothing at the mouth to talk to him about a game and a season gone horribly awry - all while not being able to breath very well because of his severely bruised back and ribs. It would be easy to feel like the end of the world was coming to Tony. It was a spot that almost none of us fans will ever even find ourselves even close to being in.

At that time, it is human nature to try to convey that it isn't the end of the world. That as bad as things seem... there will be a next year and plenty more shots at getting a playoff win. I'm sure Tony remembered all of the positive comments made from all the fans from the Jim Rome show and how everyone admired his level headed view of the game.

So Tony repeated what had been so successful on the Rome show. He probably couldn't even think that great at the time, considering the circumstances... and he simply said what had been a hit before.

Instead, a pissed off fanbase jumped on his comments and took them to mean he didn't care. It really is crazy. We all were mad, but Jesus! It was a simple comment... one that he had said before about another disappointment, to rave reviews.

The fact that some fans use that as a reason to not like the guy anymore as a QB or a person is beyond amazing to me.

In fact, it is a big factor in how I view football fans and the public in general.

People make me sick sometimes.
