Romo Better then Eli in every way

Unless you're a hater or or see things in a negative way, I don't see an honest sports fan that watched the football game last night who doesnt recognize who the best Quarterback and football player is on the field. That is Tony Romo. Manning has his moments and plays great at times, he has two rings mostly because of his defense. MVP's can't be taken away so I will give him his respect where it's due BUT you can't watch the the game and tell me you think that Eli Manning is a better Quarterback then Romo. They look like a different class to me. Romo needs a healthy season and a ring to join the Elite of Rodgers, Brady and Brees. Manning has two rings and is not considered in that tier. He believes he is elite..great. He belongs in tier two with Shaub, Big Ben, Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco etc. All good quartebacks but not the best. Romo is one of the best and with his mobility the only thing that separates him from Tier 1 is a ring. Check the stats below. Thank you.

Theogt beat me to it - this thread is going to be inundated with "But Eli has 2 SB rings while Romo has only 1 playoff win" comments.



But yes - there may not be another quarterback in the NFL today, who has done more with less, than Romo. OK, there probably are a few, but I can't think of them.

I think Romo is every bit as good a QB as Eli but trying to place one over the other is impossible because they are both excellent QBs with different strengths.

I still can't figure out how Eli continually throws what looks like jump balls and his guy always catches it, the safety/corner is always out of position or mistimes their jump,,, it can't be luck.

And I think Romo manipulates the secondary and directs his receivers better than anybody (when he doesn't have the entire DL in his face)

Anytime you base best QB on ratings...you are starting out wrong. (looks like Culpepper was at #14, haha...ever ? bull).
Rings...and it's even worse. Terry Bradshaw has 4 rings and was not a very good QB at the end of the day.

When he was healthy, Chad Pennington was damn good quarterback.

I agree i thought Pennington was a good QB at one point in his career, when he was healthy, he didnt have alot of talent around him either.

Romo could set the single-season passing record and win the league MVP, but unfortunately it's not going to change many opinions at this point. Without more playoff success, we'll still be sitting here in week 1 of next year hearing about a "breakout" performance for a guy who has had a fantastic career.

The Romo vs. Eli debate isn't one I'm interested in having at this point because, unfortunately, it's unwinnable due to Eli's momentum coming off his second ring. But I have confidence that Romo can shift the debate before his career is done. He's an amazing player, and I refuse to believe a quarterback as good as him won't have several more shots at a ring.
