I will go to my grave believing that the Cowboys had assembled a Super Bowl caliber team in 2016. As I have stated repeatedly, the only way for the Cowboys screw that deal up was to NOT find out if Romo could pilot that loaded *** team to the Super Bowl. They had two games at the end of the season after they had pretty much wrapped up HFA when they could have inserted Romo and let him show what he had left. If he balls out, you start him in the playoffs. If he sucks, you re-insert Dak and never look back. If he gets hurt, the decision is made for you. I believe Romo was the better QB at that time and would have given the Cowboys their best shot at advancing far in the playoffs. His experience would have made a huge difference. At least that is my belief. I am not in any way saying that Dak LOST that playoff game for us. Our sorry *** defense did that.. But Romo was better equipped mentally at that point to cover for the defense in a game like that than Dak was. Dak let it get to 21-3? before he got it figured out. I don't think it would have taken Romo that long.. Maybe I'm wrong.. we'll never know.. which is exactly my point..
