OK, I did not see him going down in the preseason, I was looking after the 4th game at Cincy or Green Bay. Now I hope we do not see him back until at less the game after the BY or until the Cowboys have a chance at the playoffs.:omg::)

PS
If Romo did not have bad luck he would not have any luck at all!

I believe he'll be back, but I strongly suspect this is his last season. Of course, it's a judgment call then. What if in 8 weeks he returns and the team is 6 and 2 under Dak? What about 4 and 4? 2 and 6? It's a very different context depending on what the record is. It would be hard to pull Dak if the team is winning.

We are talking about a millionaire with a trophy wife...yeah, no luck at all.:muttley:

So what happened to your pipe dream? Lee having knee problems again.

I just don't expect Romo to complete a full season at his age and history of injury over the last couple of years. I was hoping the over/under of missed games would be 4 during a season, that would be acceptable number Dallas could manage and still make the playoffs, but I'm feeling a little better with what Dak has shown, although only in preseason

Oh, so you have given up on 2016? That makes one of us.

Given up on what exactly? I NEVER thought we were going to the SB. Not once.

With Romo ALREADY going down I would say our playoff chances took a hit. I am still holding out hope we may be able to get there with Dak, but much more uknowns there.

I cautioned against all your "we will be fine" speeches.

I havent seen one lately. Arent you due for a "we will be fine without Romo and Lee" speech right about now?

Personally, I am much more hopeful of the future with Dak Prescott showing off his talent and poise in the preseason. My Doom and Gloom about the future has miraculously turned a 180.

And actually, I am looking forward to THIS season much more now knowing that the FUTURE will be coming immediately.

It has NOTHING to do with "winning now" or "winning the SB" this year. I freely admit that Romo would have given us a better chance to win some games in his prime.

Im just tired of relying on an old and brittle QB. Im perfectly happy to watch Dak develop. Even if that costs us a couple of wins in the short term.

To be fair, I never said the Cowboys were going to the Super Bowl; I do, however, expect playoffs and as far as I'm concerned, nothing has changed. Furthermore, I do think we will be fine without Romo...Dak has proven he is more than capable of moving the ball in this offense; and the addition of Zeke and Morris will only make that easier for him. As for Lee being injured, I was not aware...but I suspect we will still be fine, one way or the other. As for my weekly "will be fine" speech, it was never my intention to make that the theme. I just write about what ever strikes my fancy. I did submit the "Does Romo gives as a better chance than Dak" post, though I had titled it differently; the mods changed it for reason unknown to me. Check it out if you have an opportunity.

How did I know you were going to say that about Lee? LOL

I am just curious when the off season started you were all gung ho about the Cowboys. These are all the things that have gone wrong since then:

-Gregory gets suspended again for 10 games
-McClain gets suspended again for 10 games
-Romo breaks his back and will be out for 6-10 games minimum
-Hana gets hurt and is out for the season
-Rookie 3rd round DT breaks his foot and misses all of training camp
-Crawford gets injured again and has a gimpy shoulder
-Tapper gets hurt and wont me be much use to us his rookie year
-Lee have knee problems again
-Our backup QB is out for the year.

Im just curious....................pretty much everything that could go wrong has already gone wrong. So what would have to happen before you would say that the season is in the crapper?

Im suspecting that you would continue to be positive about the season no matter what else happened.

His age has nothing to do with his injury history though.

It simply has been bad luck.

I expect him to come back fairly quickly (before the bye) and finish the season without issue. The only thing I worry about is his disc surgery, but that hasn't been an issue thus far.

Now it's 6 to 10 games....and MINIMUM? This board has gone off the rails.

I didn't expect a major injury from Romo this season but I figured he would miss a game maybe two with something minor enough

That was the original prognosis. 6-10 games. I didnt make it up. And YAH.........minimum. As in..............if everything goes great with the rehab.

Hey, if you want to continue to live in la la land with blinders on then by all means enjoy. Or maybe you are better off accepting that Romo is the most unlucky QB in the world.

Either way the guy can no longer stay healthy. Chin up, we have Dak Prescott ready to roll.

It was 6-10 weeks, not games. At 6 weeks, that puts him possibly coming back after missing 3 games. That 6-10 is likely high IMO based upon what I've seen from other doctors and the fact that one player came back after 3 weeks with 2 of these fractures.
