If the Cowboys win out, then how can he not get this award? Who else? Rogers? Maybe, but he had a bad game yesterday. Romo was outstanding last night. TD's, 3rd down conversions, knowing when and where to throw, eluding would be sacks, just awesome.

He deserves to be in the conversation, but he's not going to win it.

There is not a single MVP on this team. Romo needs Dez, Dez needs Romo, they both need Murray, everyone needs the OL. It's that simple. I think Romo is incredibly important, but there are decent arguments that the Packers need Rodgers more than the Cowboys need Romo.

If we win out and he stays on this pace....he has my vote. That and $1.50 will get you a cup of coffee! :)

We've seen this team without Romo. They need him every bit at much. Again I'm not saying he should win it, just that he should be on the list.

While I agree that Romo isn't going to get the MVP - and I think Rodgers deserves it - but you could replace Romo with Rodgers and Dez with Cobb/Nelson and say the same thing. Every great player needs the pieces around them to do their part if they want to be in the MVP talk.

Romo is probably going to lose a lot of votes simply because of how good the Dallas run game is...which is a shame.

I know, and that's certainly why he's in the conversation. But that is really more a problem with Weeden than the team needing Romo. If we had Matt Flynn, I think you can lose ROmo and still play very well for a game or two.

I think he has a better chance than you might think. It all depends on how Rogers and Romo finish out the year. No doubt that Rogers has the edge right now.

Rodgers unquestionably has a better defense, and Lacy is having a great season as well. The idea that Rodgers has no offensive line and running game is a tired one.

Also, the race is still on. Rodgers MVP campaign is built on shameless stat padding. Suddenly the worm has turned, the stats are even, and Romo has two more combustible pass defenses left... while Rodgers has to contend with the Lions. The Cowboys are actually better in Romo's games (10-3) than the Packers in Rodgers (10-4).

Of course Brady has great stats too, and they're 11-3. So...

I have to say that if there was ever a year Romo deserved it, it would be this one. Unfortunately, you know the voters won't give him a sniff.

I don't think Romo has the numbers to win MVP. He's 6th in TD's which is good, 2nd in completion percentage which is also good, and 2nd in passer rating. However, Rodgers is the one ahead of him in passer rating, and Romo is only 15th in passing yards, so I'm just not sure if that's enough to warrant the MVP. Plus the strength of the Cowboys' run game will probably be a knock against Romo. I think Murray would win the MVP before they gave it to Romo.

Honestly, I think that MVP is the absolute dumbest award in all of sports. It's football; the concept of a 'valuable player' is so anti-team and against the concept of the game that it's silly. I personally hope Romo is discussed and wins it, but will lose not a second of sleep if he isn't discussed about it. I'm sure it's nice for the player to be recognized, but who is to say that Rodgers or any QB is more important than a great center?

That's false! Murray, Dez, o-line and the entire Cowboys nation depend heavily on Romo. You can use the game and a half he missed as a reference.

People seem to get so upset about that statement. I wasn't saying Romo isn't incredibly important. He really is. But the team as a whole works well together.

That game and a half he missed has more to do with how truly awful his backup is than anything else.

Honestly a lot of good RBs in this league would be having a monster year for the Cowboys. Some would have more yards and Tds than Murray. Jamaal Charles, AP pre-suspension, Bell, McCoy, Foster to name a few.

Romo not only has balled he runs this offense well and smartly.

Dude, bottom line is Romo is having an exceptional year and this team heavily depends on him. Period. That's what an MVP is. That's not saying he should win it, but just that he should be in the conversation.

The last I saw Romo wasn't even going to the ProBowl!!!!

ESPN and the rest of the media that increases their ratings by bashing the cowboys have succeeded in convincing everyone that Romo is a bum.
