Romo had a bad game too...

Romo didn't have his best game but needs to be applauded for what he was able to do behind this oline. To say he had a horrible game is foolish. He was obliterated all game, and Witten couldn't catch a cold.

Not foolish at all, just saying what happened and bringing it to light. Sure, the offensive line played real bad, but that doesn't excuse not protecting the ball. There are certainly other problems here besides the offensive line. Lets just all be honest with ourselves.

I too am pissed with Witten. He has had multiple false starts and dropped passes in the first 3 games. He has been KILLING us. We need to start seeing a lot more of Hanna.

Did anyone say Romo had a "good" game?

I don't think anyone on the offense has been lauded for their play today.

I think we could throw the whole offense under the bus and no one would think twice about it after today.

The first INT just looked like a bad route combination. I'm not ready to blame Dez without knowing all the facts. The fumble is one that really irked me. The type of play we see out of Romo from time to time. Trying to make a play where there isn't one. Just eat it.

1. ANYONE who belives ROMO is playing BAD does NOT know ANYTHING about football

2. Please take a look at our OL if you fall into number 1 above.

If your QB is getting destroyed by 1-3 rushers every single snap, he is going to fumble. It doesn't matter what QB it is.

That interception was not Romo's fault. Austin was open and it was a good pass. Should have been a first down. Talib made a good play. What really mattered is Dez did not fire off the line and take Talib out of the play. You get Talib turned to the outside and he can't come off his man and intercept the pass.

Winner! Winner! Chicken Dinner!

If Bryant fires off the line and forces Talib out of his back pedal, then Talib can't keep his eyes on Romo to see where the ball is going. Talib would have to keep his focus on Bryant. One of the first things Romo did after that interception was go up to Bryant and tell him something.

I'm leaning toward it being a combination of things. Ofcoarse I have been known to be wrong a time or two.

Agreed. I think Talib just decided to freelance on the play. If Romo had thrown to Talib's guy on that play (Dez), it would have been an easy first down.

Romo 100% should have held on to the ball there. It was clear he was going to get sacked, instead he tried to make something happen and that is what caused the fumble. POINTS... we were GUARANTEED POINTS. You have to PROTECT the ball there at all costs. No excuses!!!

He "tried to make something happen" AFTER the ball was already out. That's why it was ruled a fumble. The ball came out, and he tried to bat it forward. If the ball had not been out already, the incompletion would have stood.

How many times do I need to explain this?

Who's fault was it that the ball came out? You are trying to use a straw man argument to defend Romo not protecting the ball. Let me help you out, it was Romo's fault.

The bottom line is there isn't one QB in this league who could do better than Romo has with what he has to overcome every single possession. Period. There's more to playing than just stats.

He should have just taken the sack.

It's the olines fault for getting him CRUSHED.

1. Starts off the game throwing an interception deep in our own territory that lead to 7 points by the Bucs. OUCH!!

2. 3rd quarter instead of taking the sack he tried to do some kind of crazy underarm throw leading to a fumble at the Bucs 20 yard line. We were guaranteed 3 points there at minimum! You have to be focused on getting the points at any cost, Romo wasn't even thinking about the guaranteed points. Another duh moment for him.

I'm not going to count the other sack fumble because that was the offensive lines fault but let's not kid ourselves, Romo is in fact playing a role in our teams woes.

Football is a game of inches, if we played a better team the mistakes mention above could have easily cost us the win.

Romo played just fine.

Now before that, as soon as Romo felt his shirt being grabbed he could have put both arms around the ball and just fell to the ground. That would have occurred prior to the ball coming loose.

Thank you! NO EXCUSES.. especially when you are in scoring range!
If you want him to take the sack every time there's pressure, he'll never throw the ball...

Thank you! And that would have let to a MINIMUM of 3 points. Instead we got none. Football is a game of inches.. you have to be smart and protect the ball there period.

He's gotten lucky by "making things happen". He needs to be more careful with the ball.

His ability to extend plays has hidden many of the OL's problems in the past. Do you remember how our OL problems suddenly disappeared when Romo took over for Bledsoe?

Romo needs to step back from trying to make the highlight reel every week. Protect the ball.

But in the end ... he wouldn't have to be trying to extend plays if his OL held up and did their job.
