Romo with 3 games to play has already had more passing attempts than in any season except for the 2009 season where he had 550 attempts. Currently Romo has 526 attempts and will likely surpass the 2009 season this weekend with 2 games remaining

That doesn't surprise me with no running game most of the year and playing from behind. You can thank Romo we are anywhere near our current record.

At the current pace he is looking at 647 passes on the season and an avg of 40 attemps per game.

That is usually not a winning recipe.
Knock on wood, but I am astounded that he has survived the season so far. More time than not, even a routine pass requires some form of acrobatics just to get it off.

I agree. I hope Murray can help take some of that pressure off of Romo over these last 3 games. This is going to be a tough one vs Pitt to get much out of the running game

Regardless of the outcome of this season, the teams MVP was clearly Tony Romo.

If he didn't make a play, no one was. And the majority of this team's scores and big plays come from 'Romo being Romo' and not the plays initial design.

Would love to see a stat, might email Sturm about this - how many of Dallas' passing TDs over the past 2 years came from the way they drew it up vs how many Romo scored by improvising.

Which has always been my biggest gripe with the Garrett offense, it just doesn't work, at all - and until he puts full control in Romo's hands, they can't move the ball.

But we had a better record in 2010 with Kitna.

He also will likely pass his best yardage season of 2009. He is 555 yards behind that mark. He has already completed more passes this year than any season in his career with 349.
